Will a 20x9 ET: 30 work on a 245/35/20 squared setup?

275 can work in the front, but it's very tight and will likely rub on compression with the wheels turned.

You can go wider in the rear but also requires careful planning with offset and camber.

265/30/20 and 295/30/20 is doable but I prefer running a 35 sidewall for the front. 265/35 front on my current setup will rub. I want to maintain a 30mm staggered setup so I opted not to run a 295/30 in the rear.

Yea I prefer higher sidewalls, thinking of switching my setup to 19s. I also love meaty tire setups. You ever go to any meets in socal?

Hi there!
Loving the setup!
I'm currently purchasing the same wheels in black but the sale man recommended me 20x8.5 in the front. How are the 9.5 in the front, any clearance issues? Are 275 fit the front well?
Are you on stock suspension? The fitment looks amazing !

Thanks for the kind words!

Yeah, Fast only recommends an 8.5" wheel which is what the car already has.

The 9.5" on the front is not a bolt-on. I'm lowered on coilovers and have negative camber upper control arms to get these to fit with these 275/35-20 tires, which are 1" larger diameter than stock. This setup will rub with too much steering angle and enough compression.

If you used stock diameter tires (275/30-20), or a narrower 255/35-20, the 9.5 might be an easier fit, but will still require significant lowering to keep it from poking.

It takes a lot of messing around to get this stuff right, and then the proper wheel spacers to tune it in. My wheels are 45 offset with 15mm spacers front, 12mm rear. 15mm front are necessary to keep it from rubbing the suspension upright, an effective offset of 30mm.

Just picked up a 2016 535i. Its got the 464M 20" factory upgrade. Thinking about something to lower it a tad. It has the M Sport suspension so it looks lower than stock height but i may want it a tad lower.

How to make brakes look small - 22" wheels!

I think your car will look MUCH better with 20's on it (and it will surely ride much better). Lots of M5 guys go to 21's and I think that's about the limit for this car, but personally I think 20's are the sweet spot. Lots of good tire choices too.
