gspannu, I travel to London every Month to take the Wife to the (sigh) in-laws.
Basingstoke is not to far from that there London tis it?

Anyway, if your around circa Easter this Year, I may come and pay you a visit(with the Wife in tow!) and I'm hoping that you can show/teach me how to perform the coding. I will then sally back up North and disseminate to fellow Northern folk.

Cheers.

However, if I was to make a business trip up North; I will post the dates as soon as I know and maybe something can be worked out. Please do not plan anything otherwise.

Thanks...
No problem at all. I too was thinking of perhaps getting some funds together to make your trip worth its while.

DRL coding is quite simple.
I am not too sure about Enhanced Bluetooth coding (have not done it myself as I ordered this in my own car), but if you know what needs to be coded, I can definitely do it.

PM me when you wish to come around...
I have sent you a pm. thank you.

Apologies, guys... I think I mis-wrote (if there is such a word!) my earlier comment.

What I meant by my comment was that if I was to travel around to North as part of my office job; I would likely extend my stay and also do the coding sessions.

The coding sessions will be free (always).

Coding in Northern England

Anyone in Northern England who could code a brand new 520dM Sport F10? Need enhanced bluetooth but not v computer literate.

I have the ZNP Professional Media Package, which on my last car included enhanced bluetooth, but now it's extra (presumably because they've thrown in DAB (yuk) instead. Dealer told me that enhanced BT just added the cradle preparation (wrong!), so I didnt need it, but I miss the streaming and Office functions.

I'm on Merseyside but willing to travel. If you can help/do this would be v grateful. Dealer emphatically says it's not possible!!

I have a feeling that may be true from reading on here. I was lucky my dealer told me I needed it or would have not got it, but had it on my E60

Going through the coding route - opens up a lot more possibilities...
I have just ordered a f11 530 M Sport and would love to take you up on the re-coding offer if okay? I live in Southampton so not far away.

That's a good plan... you are more than welcome. Basinsgtoke is about 45 minutes driving from Heathrow on the M3 southwards.

Let's touch base closer to Easter and fix a date.

Is there anything that I need to order and do before I come to see you?
Eg, buy a 250GB external HDD? cabling?

Not a problem. Send me a PM closer to the time you get your car and we will setup a date...

Meanwhile, prepare a list of what you need done... and enjoy the anticipation of getting your new car

If you wish to learn coding (or more precisely get a starter's guidance), its best that you have a laptop loaded with E-Sys. This should take up about 30-40GB space and Windows 7 is probably the best OS.
You would also need a cable (Ethernet to Diag-port).
In addition, you also need a license to run E-sys.

Have all these pre-loaded on your laptop and you are good to go... I can then teach you the basics of coding and get you started on your own car itself.

If you wish to prepare your machine (at my place during the visit), then the least you should do is
- get a E-sys license
- get a cable
- I will load E-Sys software and the PSZ data files to your laptop and then teach you to code your own car.

GS Pannu

Hi GS!

I have recently purchased a F10 530d M Sport (2011) and would like a couple of bits coded ie folding mirrors when I turn the car off (I can do it manually but normally forget!). Can you help me with this? I live in Camberley but work in Basingstoke and can meet you one evening/weekend when you are around. Very new to thsi site (so new I can PM yet) so apologies for the direct nature of this post.

Look forward to hearing from you soon.

Thanks

Nasser

Thanks GSPANNU.

I will be following this excellent thread to prepare: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=624780.

Only snag is getting hold of the software and the cable. What type of cable is it? Can I get one from maplin?

Cheers.

Also, I have got the Internet option added. It says on the BMW website that it is only available when the car is stationary. Is there a code to turn on Internet 'in motion'?
Not that I would be surfing when I'm driving, just listening to some YouTube music.

Cheers

Yes, this will do... although I guess you might be able to find it cheaper. Not a bad deal though.

I guess it can be done, just have to hunt for the code... but I know it exists and have done it before.

An evening in Basinsgtoke would be fine. Mirrors can be coded.

I am already booked for coding this Thu, the coming weekend, and Mon.

Send me a PM or your email address and I will email you directly. We should be able to fix something next week.

Absolutely happy to guide you or anyone who wishes to learn coding.

The more of us who can do it, the better. This means that more people are experimenting and finding new things.. and this is good for the whole community.

Let me know when you wish to come around; and we can setup a ½ day to go through the basics...
