iOS 7 and email&messages – totally broken
The newly released IOS 7 (final version) totally broke the stumbling email and messages functionality that we had in IOS 6.x. None of the tricks that made this somehow work in IOS 6 works in IOS 7.
Not even messages comes through now! Apple, come on – this is embarrassing. /ULO |

I have done some more testing now. I reverted back to previous software version in the car (1005 - MX-3.5.4, TX-3.5.5. I was on 1006 before - MX-3.5.4, TX-3.5.6). Now booth messages and email works (using the known work-around after phone has connected using Bluetooth to the car – i.e. kill the e-mail app and restart it. The sender is also displayed properly in Idrive , but e-mails show up under SMS-messages as before. Conclusion: do not use the latest BMW software if you want this to work on IOS 7. /ULO |

I have IOS 7 on my 4 and UPD10006 in my 535i and after I went through all of the steps in my guide I have text and email notifications. This is a single data point, but the notifications do work for me as they worked before the upgrade to IOS 7.
