I wonder...
I wonder what drives you ( see what I did there? ) when you choose a car. Anyone want to venture their Top Ten factors?
My top ten reasons for buying my amazing F10 are as follows: 1. The cabin. I wanna be in a nice place. 2. The looks (contraversional at no.2 ?) 3. The drive. Poke and feel. 4. Toys. 5. Safety. 6. Reliability. 7. Good dealer. 8. Fuel economy. 9. Cost (purchase, running and depreciation). 10. Prestige. How about you? D |

1. E92 needed to go..no good for family…F11 fits the bill perfectly
2. looks 3. performance from 3.0d 4. reliability…use it for work as well…needs to be reliable work horse too 5. safety 6. gadgets 7. quality 8. cabin 9. brand loyalty…5th BMW in a row all been good cars so no reason to change "if it aint broke" 10. looked at competition, nothing i liked that came close, A6 Avant (new model, not out), Merc Estate (don't like mercs for some reason, never have)…thats it…. |

1. The cabin. Same as you, I want to enjoy where I am spending 20k miles
2. The technology. Heavily linked to the cabin. For me the Prof Media addition is a huge part of what this car is 3. Prestige. Like it or not, what you have parked in the executive car park affects people's perception of you. 4. Practicality. Mine is an F11. Loads of space for all the camping gear and kids 5. Economy. 520d is super economical for a car this size. At £1.40 a litre, that's bloody important. 6. Drivability. Controversial at 6 but lets face it, a smaller car is more nimble than the F11. For it's size though, the drivability it great Can't get higher than 7 to be honest. Those above are all that matters. I was going to add quality but my last car (Audi) should have been quality and it disintegrated at 4.5 years old so I am skeptical now that paying premium money gets premium reliability. |

1. Ride and Handling (must be fun to drive and feel comfortable)
2. Power (535D is a compromise) 3. Quality cabin (must have prestigious feel to the cabin - for my Mrs) 4. Size, practicability (not too small, not too big) 5. Reliability 6. Economy (mpg, depreciation, reliability...) 7. Beauty Nothing much else, really. No brand loyalty although this is my 5th if I include the BMW Mini Cooper S. I AM fond of BMWs but I will not hesitate to switch to Audi, Toyota, and even Hyundai if they offered more of the above for the similar money. |
