Bimmer Performance Center F10 535d big brake upgrade

Hi everyone, the F10 aftermarket is still growing but we havent seen much in the form of a big brake upgrade for the F10 535d's.

With our past experience with the E70 X5d's using 5.0i brakes as a factory big brake upgrade we applied this knowledge to the F10 535d. We were able to find that F01 750 front brake calipers, brackets and rotors are a direct bolt on for the F10 535d's. The difference between the brakes is quite dramatic. This upgrade will only work for the front.

Below are some photos and comparisons.

Good stuff Phil! Not long ago, I read a post about this mod. If I remember correctly, the OP mentioned something about a 10% increase in rotor surface area. Thank you for posting pics!

Added/Updated info:

Briefly researching F01 rotor size, appears that they are 374mm. On my F10, my fronts are 348mm.

Hello, Great news.
If I want to upgrade, I will need F01 374mm disc, carrier and Caliper? Anymore parts?
What is the size of wheel? 18” ?

EBC offers 13.7in rotor(oem size) and 14.6in rotor, has anyone used the 14.6 in one?

I am also attempting some BMW brake swaps from different models. I can confirm that F01 stuff fits on the F10 front only. It seems that E60 stuff may fit as well. E60 M5 calipers are cheap and 2 pistons with a 374x36 rotor as well.

Correct, you will need brake rotors, brake caliper bracket, caliper and pads. For the F10 I would say you would need atleast a 19" the caliper sits pretty close to the inside wall of the 19" wheel.

This thread describes how to retrofit F01 7 Series 374x36 front brakes to F10. Not sure if those calipers will fit with OEM 18” wheels.

What I did was to retrofit F10 550i/M550d 374x36 front brakes (rotors and caliper carriers). Those brakes fits with F10 18” wheels!

Details and part numbers can be found here: f10.5post.com

The idea of larger front brakes is very interesting, especially if it's a low-cost upgrade. However, when I plug in "BMW F01 750 front brake caliper" the ebay search yields calipers that look very different from yours. In fact, they appear to be single piston units, so I am confused by you postings. Also, when talking about "brackets" are these incorporated with the car's front spindles or separate? Have a F10 535d with same wheels and tires as pictured.
