2014 535i CPO
Hi all,
I am looking to purchase a CPO 2014 535i. I found two cars that are similar: Car #1: Alpine White Black Dakota M Sports Package w/ 704 suspension Lighting Package Driver Assistance Package Driver Assistance Plus Luxury Seating Package Premium Package Harman Kardon Ceramic Controls M Performance Black Grills M Performance Carbon Fiber Interior Trim M Performance Carbon Fiber Rear Spoiler M Performance Stainless Steel Pedals 31,100 Miles Built 02/2014 CPO until 03/2020 Car #2: Jet Black Black Dakota M Sports Package w/ 704 suspension Lighting Package Driver Assistance Package Driver Assistance Plus ACC Stop and Go Luxury Seating Premium Package Harman Kardon Soft Close Doors 37,500 Miles Built 03/2014 CPO until 04/2020 My concerns are: 1) The service history is similar on both cars but Car #2 has had lengthy oil change intervals at about 11-12.5k miles between all 3 oil changes whereas Car #1 has only had 7-8k miles between oil changes. This worries me as I am planning on keeping the car for a while. Also Car #2 has more miles. Am I thinking too much into this? 2) Car #2 does not have BMW Apps 6NR whereas both have 6NS. Could I code in 6NR if I want to as I assume the hardware on the NBT iDrive is the same on both? 3) Car #1 does not have ACC Stop and Go and soft close doors. Are those something that is nice to have or am I better off without it as it's less to go wrong in the long run? Does frontal collision intervention work the same with or without the ACC radar? 4) The M Performance parts on Car #1 are nice but retrofittable on Car #2. It would be nice to have them from the beginning and gives the car a sporty/unique look. If the two cars are in similar in condition, which would you guys recommend? I have been breaking my head over this but need to decide soon.

Both vehicles are out-of-state and are being certified so I just have dealer-provided pictures. I updated my post above.

Maybe I'm not seeing where the hard choice is, but #1 seems to be a no-brainer to me.
Silly post, for real. :-) I'm gonna post a silly post too!! |

I was leaning towards #1 but great to hear everyone feels the same. I just placed a deposit on the car and should be picking it up next week when I'm back in town. Going to be a long week...

I would go with the white one. I have a 2015 Jet Black 535i and while its beautiful when clean its tough to keep it looking good. I have had other black cars, but jet black is really tough.

I agree with the consensus the White one was the way to go. I especially like the ceramic controls it comes with in the car. Makes it even more unique.

I would go with car two mainly due to the ACC Stop & GO.

Good choice on #1 IMO. I had a Sapphire Black E91 and the black looked great for an hour after cleaning/waxing but terrible the rest of the time. Enjoy your Alpine!
Great deals on CPO these days. Last week I bought a non-M CPO 14 535xi with 33k mi Alpine/Mocha Nappa with all of the options on yours plus rear shades and Cold pkg. I would have liked ACC itself but DAPlus city braking is enough for me without ACC Stop&Go. First mod for me will be to ditch my 19" Goodyear runflats for Michelin or Conti non-RF. |

I've been busy with work and never got to wash and get some good pictures of her. I've had the 535i for about 2 weeks now and it has been a fantastic car so far. It really is the perfect mixture of luxury and sport. I'm glad I went with the Alpine White with the black accents - it looks really sharp. Big thanks to everyone who offered insight on choosing the car.
Planned mods so far: - Gloss black double slat grill - Clear protection film (any good shops in Houston?) - M5 front sway bar and 650i rear sway bar - Coding! It's a real solid car for Houston's endless concrete roads. I'm dying to take it up to some winding canyon roads sometime soon though...
