My dealer is going to be tinting my black/black 535i with llumar non-metalic charcoal tint. I negotiated the price of the tint in the purchase of the car, and the dealer will install it in-house with a dedicated tint guy.

Anyhow, I have the option of putting 15% or 20% darkness of tint on the windows. Which one would you do? Whatever % I chose I will also put on the back windshield as well.

I was thinking about putting on the tint strip on the front windshield down to the "AS1" line (about 6 inches down or so). However, the dealer told me that I should not do this, as it would look bad. Apparently there are little back dots on the windshield that make this strip look bad. Also, something about "white lines" make it not attractive. Thoughts?

Lastly, should I tint the moonroof?

30% is plenty and you can put clear on the windshield to block the heat. I also tinted my moonroof but this area is hot, if you haven't spent a few summers here you don't understand.

I did 18% carbon on mine all around which is just slightly into the illegal domain but not enough IMO to have any issues with cops. In th pic it was a little overcast so the windows look darker but it's just right for me. My last ride I stayed legal and it bothered me the whole time. Felt it was too light.
