Splitter to ground clearance, what's yours?

For those running front splitters what are your clearance heights (inches)? And if you're running springs or coilovers what kind? How much scraping are you noticing...daily, once in awhile? Trying to get an idea of how low the front end is with a lip...appreciate it guys!

Currently running a Hamann style carbon fiber lip on H&R's with 20's and if I hit a normal sized dip I'll scrape. Or if I come at a speed bump a little too fast I'll scrape. I've only had it installed for about 3 days now, and I already can tell when I'll scrape. You get that feeling in your gut, grip the steering wheel, and hope you don't rip the thing in half because it's not practical to slow down to 50mph on the freeway for every imperfection you may come across. But I like the look and it pays to look good. Low and slow around bad road conditions.

Well said Bud. Know the feeling and I haven't chosen a lip yet. Can you share with a Brother what your front clearance height is?

The non-M 3D design lip looks pretty good! might get that if I can find a carbon version!

I'm lowered on ACS springs and have 3D design M sport Front Lip. I have to say that I scrapped a lot. Then, some guy at BMW service scrapped it even more and I made them repaint it. They showed me a receipt and it cost them $1600 to repaint +labor. After that, I practiced angling the car. It helped me so much. So far, I have no problems with scrapping. I analyze the road going in or out driveway and if it's too deep or too high, I won't even angle the car and just find another way to get there. That's the only disadvantage and it happens very rarely.

M Performance Style CF Splitter/Lip. I have 5" of clearance at the lowest point (center). I am on 20" wheels and lowered on ACS Springs. I have been driving lowered cars with front lips for 16 years now so it is second nature for me to watch out for steep driveways, speed bumps, etc. but it is difficult to ever let someone else drive the car though.

Same here been driving lowered cars all the way back in 91' when racing was underground. But back than everyone would just cut their springs lol! Universal exhausts, universal intakes and if u had headers, u were the $hit! 5"...that's pretty damn low!

I've got ARKYM front lip, H&R sports springs & 20' BBS. ARKYM gives good clearance. To the front, it is exactly 4.75" from the ground.

Very nice, are those wheels the CH-R, but with red caps?

Yes. The red caps give it a sportier look.
