Warranty

As some of you know I was in market of purchasing extended warranty on my 2013 550i, About month ago I made trip to my local Dealer they quoted me $3500 for 75000miles and 7 years. Today I had some time I decide to go down and buy. Well surprise surprise now its $3800 plus tax for 75000miles and 7 years.
I asked guy how come its more now he said my car is class 6 which means its highest class and most expensive. I am planing on keeping car for long time I just said fuck it lets get it done.
Its comprehensive coverage 75000miles 7years bumper to bumper.
But again bumper to bumper is bullshit statement because lots of stuff is not covered under this warranty. Overall I am happy I got it lets not forget its N63 engine we all know it can be trouble.
Toal cost $4091.60

If I was keeping my car for a long time (mine's a lease), I would definitely go this route since I would have trouble sleeping at night if I had the N63 out of warranty.

It looks like the iDrive system won't be covered, is that true??? If iDrive goes tits up that would definitely suck since it controls so much.

Here's hoping you won't have to use your extended warranty.

Well now that he bought it, he should want a high dollar break to make it worth the cost

Haha!! True but they probably charge some stupid "diagnostic fee" when you take it in.

3.years 75k. The car currently has 36k and I put 7k a year on it so I won't get close to 75k.

Has anyone successfully negotiated the BMW warranty price or purchased from a non-local dealer? I'm up in June on my 2013 550.

As an aside, when we bought my wife's Toyota (new) a few years back I was able to extend the factory 3/36 out to a 7/75 for $495. The price on Toyotas website was $1495 and the dealer was offering it for $1195 at time of vehicle purchase. I had found, via a Toyota forum, a dealer out in Ohio who would sell for $495. I mentioned this (and showed the e-mail) to my dealer's finance guy who turned around, looked in a binder on the shelf and said OK, we can do $495.

No holding my breath but have to ask.

Thanks,
