My dealer placed my order for the next build allocation (I'm guessing next week?). Does anyone know the approx. time from build initiation to delivery in NorCal?

Active Ventilated Seat Package, Convenience Package, Driver Assistance Package, Sport Package, Dynamic Handling Package, Premium Package, Premium Package 2, Integral Active Steering, Sport-Auto Transmission, Heads-Up Display. |

Acccording to the moderators and officials with BMW - USA F10 5 series are being held for release until June 19th - the official USA release date. My car was ordered March 30th, build started on April 7th and was completed on April 19th. I cannot get it until June 19th...so not sure why I rushed to order ):

Thanks for the reply. I got that info with the other posts. I'm simply wondering, however, how long it usually takes from order submission to delivery. 2 months max?

My 335i took about 6 weeks to get to San Diego after it went into production. Looks like the 535i will take a little longer because of the release date.

According to the automated status service, my car took 12 days "in production" as well. Ordered 4/2, production started 4/5, production complete 4/17. I wasn't able to get any more detail. Now it's at the port waiting for a ship.

My 535i order was entered into the computer at the dealer on March 26. By 4/9 it was "waiting to be painted". By 4/12 it was awaiting shipping. By 4/20 it was in transit.

It usually takes less than two weeks to build the car. Shipping from Germany to the U.S. can take 4-6 weeks, or longer, depending on which U.S. port the ship goes to.
My father's 550i took less than two weeks to build, and now it's sitting at the port waiting to be loaded onto the ship.

My 535 was ordered on May 7, production completed on May 21 and now on the 26th the status says its in transit to the port of exit. So I guess about another 3 to 4 weeks for me .
I think I might be on the ship Boheme that leaves on June 4th, As long as they are not to backed up in Bremerhaven. My local dealer has a 535 and a 550 on their lot now I test drove the 535 on May 24th amazing car cant wait till mine gets here. |
