DIY Surround View
Finished my Surround view this past weekend and everything is working great. Putting this together so part numbers and any questions can be posted and I can answer since I did all of this myself.
Have to replace both side mirrors with Surround view camera mirrors. 4 cables, 4 Cameras, ECU, front mounts. Bumper does NOT need to be removed for install, just remove the front fender skirts and front wheels. BMW Marks the front bumper with exactly where to drill the holes for the cameras. 01 Side-view camera 2 66539240352 02 BRACKET LEFT 1 51117207921 02 BRACKET RIGHT 1 51117207922 03 Fillister head screw 4 07149166316 For vehicles with Side View Camera S5DKA=Yes 04 Wiring harness, Side View Camera 2 61119182329 i For vehicles with Backup camera and Top View or Surround View S3AHA=Yes S5DLA=Yes 01 ECU for Top Rear Side View camera 1 07/2014 66539302258 ENDED 01 ECU for Top Rear Side View camera 1 07/2015 66539350997 01 ECU for Top Rear Side View camera 1 66539393952 02 Hex nut M5 2 07129906048 $0.73 |

Yes, it was coded by Bimmer Tech. Paid them $1300.00 for cables, brackets, installation instructions and coding. Also needed the center console controls for side view cameras.

Hi,
I'm planning to do the same upgrade on my car. Could you explain us where the ECU has to be placed and how to the wiring harness is placed. Thanks for sharing. |

Mike, do you know if it is possible to do just the mirror cameras and not front bumper without causing issue? Also, did you look into lane change/Blindspot system while you were at it? Will mirrors from a car optioned with that work?
Thanks Matt |

Yes, you can just do the Surround view cameras without the Front bumper side view cameras. I did not look into the blind spot system because I always found those systems annoying and not as good as my own set of eyes. lol
There will need to be additional sensors installed for the blind spot and lane change options and not sure what would be required as I did not investigate. www.bimmertech.net and as Patryk. If there is a way to retrofit, he can provide it at a far cost. Mike |

ECU is located in trunk on drivers side. It REPLACES the backup camera ECU. Basically run all your camera cables to ECU, pull out Backup camera ECU and install Surround view ECU which has the backup camera input as well as 4 more for surround view and side view.

F10 Night Vision DIY
OK, NIGHT VISION IS FINALLY BEING FINISHED!!! WOOO HOOOO. I have spent the past several months finding the stinking right Wiring harness from "Y" connector that comes from NV Camera in grill over the the Drivers side wheel well. NO ONE and I mean NO ONE knew what harness to buy to connect the Y connection back into the Passenger compartment. Well, I ordered 5 different harnesses from our friends at www.getbmwparts.com and Jason worked with me to order these puppies from Germany and then let me return the ones that did not work. Mind you, I have been doing business with them for over ten years so they were really giving on this. The end result is now you can plug and play the HSD harness for the camera and with a BMW REPAIR kit (about 5.00 dollars), you can build the female end on the second part of the Y harness. Then run everything along factory harness (Cut Zip ties and then put them back in with new wires) and run everything into the car!
I found that you have to get to the central control module in the footwell and then pop out pin 46 and 47 for the Can Bus, build a new pin connection with 2 wires instead of the OEM one, and start plugging everything in! TWO FREAKING years I have been researching, looking for parts, Locating Double slotted M5 grills that are painted black and then figuring out the NV camera enclosure for fitting a LCI NV grill to a Pre LCI vehicle. BUT IT IS ALMOST DONE NOW!! I have located a person to source many of the parts from near Germany at a lower cost, Figured out how to obtain NV camera and ECU (MUST BE FROM SAME CAR for a retrofit), Located every single cable to make it look OEM and then do the wiring so not even the dealer can tell it is a retrofit. Have been taking pictures along the way and have cleared up MANY MANY MANY questions that I have not seen ANYONE else go into detail upon. But this retrofit, ONCE you get the details figures out, is really not that hard. Yes, you have to pull the front bumper, yes, you have to replace the air guide in the front end, Yes, you have to build parts of your harnesses, but this was not as hard as the Surround view retrofit. As soon as I finish wiring tomorrow, and I have it coded by BimmerTech, I will post pictures of it. This retrofit IS doable and not that hard once you get clear instructions and figure things out. Only THREE more projects and only after three years will my F10 Msport, Dinan 550, be finally completed. |

You have to make sure you have center console switch as well. Two versions, one with side view cameras if you decide to install the front fender cameras, or just the surround view switch which controls the Side mirrors and rear view camera for surround view.
You also need to purchase new mirrors with camera holes in them or you can drill them out but will need mounting hardware to install the camera. Check www.realoem.com for parts. Might be easier to just purchase new mirrors with Cameras in them and mount. Easy to do when door panel is off. https://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-F10-F11...0AAOSw~G1Z23y0 https://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-F10-F12...wAAOSwG7lZ0-gJ |

Hey I'm working on doing this for my car. I've got a 2014 528i XDrive with backup camera and pdc from factory.
I'm trying to find a straight answer for what needs to be done. Your first post is great; but could you tell me a bit more about the coding? I'm not entirely sure what needs to be coded. Also; do you have the part #'s for the wiring harness? So far for the side view I have the following: - Side view Cameras (In Bumper) -- Reqs: --- 2x 66-53-9-240-352 (Cameras) --- 1x 51-11-7-207-921 (Left Bracket) --- 1x 51-11-7-207-922 (Right Bracket) --- 4x 07-14-9-166-316 (Screws) --- 2x ???????????????? (Wiring Harness) --- 1x 66-53-9-393-952 (ECU) Curious how difficult is it to code this? I've never done VO coding but I've done whatever it is you would call coding things like keyfob folding mirrors in and small changes. Thanks in advance and I hope someone can help. |

There are 4 cables. Each one is dedicated and runs from Camera back to ECU. You have the 2 x Side view camera cables that run from Side Cameras directly to Rear ECU. Then you will have a 2 part cable from Mirrors back to ECU. First part is from Mirror to Door jam. Second part is from Door Jam to ECU in trunk. Very easy to install into the door jam harness. Just pop it out, insert end of Camera cable and listen for a click when it locks in.
So technically, you have 6 cables. 1 each for side view back to ECU and then 2 each from mirror to door jam and door jam to ECU. |

S3AGA reverse S3AHA reverse + top S5DLA surround So if you compare S3AHA - S3AGA it will give you the additional FDL coding for the top camera. |

Hey, does anyone have any idea why I can’t add 3AH to my FA? I have a 2015 F10, retrofitted TRSVC. Rear cam works just fine with 3AG. However I cannot add 3AH to my FA however I can add 5DL but haven’t yet fitted the side view cams. The error I’m getting is “No Fp could be generated from FA C002, not all elements of the FA were found in the FA2FP. SALAPA 3AH. Any ideas guys?
