Thanks. I'm not sure how they would look on a light colored car, but for anything that is black, I say that they are the way to go versus the painted ones.

I know this is an old thread, but I have a question regarding fit.

I have a 2015 535i M sport. The current grills seem to have a rubber gasket around the frame. Does this affect the ability to "grab and pull" the existing ones out?

Do aftermarket or OEM have a rubber gasket? I assume there's no function to this.

Thanks

on my 2011 it did not have a gasket as i recall? still a common topic here and new members ask the same thing and had great results with the yank and pull method that were suggested. I've heard some run the engine on to warm the front end a bit before pulling

My 2014 also had that gasket. I pulled the grilles out with no problems. The eBay grills I purchased didn't have the gasket but still fit ~98%.

i'm gonna pull my old grills out of storage and see if they had a gasket around them but I don't think they did?

Some cheaper alternatives... They're pretty much all from China/Hong Kong/Taiwan anyway. I've had better results with the Taiwanese grilles.

thanks! I guess I should wait until the weather is warmer. It's still below freezing here. I gave one of the grills a small yank to see what movement there was, but it didn't budge.... As I've been reading, the "big yank" is what's needed and that a "small" one isn't going to cause any movement until it's ready to move.

I've ordered the grills - they'll take a month or so to arrive - so the temperature should be warmer.

good stuff. Thanks. None of the aftermarket seem to have any gasket and no one seems to complain... so i guess it's nothing to worry about.

The bumper cover needs to be warm, NOT HOT, for the "yank method" to work. The bumper should be somewhat flexible.

The grille I got doesn't have the gasket and the fit, while not perfect, is so close that one would need to measure the fit!
