For my 528 Hamann (basically same as Supersprint with different brand) with no X pipes, its very subtle. Low tone and droning at low RPM. I found I lost a bit of low end torque at low speed going uphill but acceptable to my standard. I think your set up will be very different, Kevin.

And newspaper says 520 (w N20 2.0T) will be around 400k ! WTF.. unbelievable.. but E200 Classic (w/ absolutely nothing, no xenons etc) is already list 414K..
So probably new 528i w 2.0T @245PS cannot be close to the old 600K.. MB E250 Avant already 550k.. At least us 528I w N52 owners can be satisified with the 3.0NA.. i know i am at least.. different ppl may prefer differently .. so even if new 528i is ~500k i wont be pissed. If all new F10 get Start/Stop, should mean 535 and maybe 550 also get 75k eco tax rebate.. 535 for sure because Audi 3.0T already has and can price @700k 550 so big engine, thats new ground so can't say Old 523i w 2.5na @204ps vs 520i w 2.0T @184ps is also a choice, there is more torque, but turbo lag, and NA 6-cyl is smoother .. but 520i @400k .. maybe some new 523i owners crying now (if they prefer the turbo option instead) We call 4 banger now too, learn from American cousins.. |

I think the pricing of the new 520i and 528i are all depend to how they will price the up coming F30. BMW can't price it too cheap because need to give space for the 320i and 328i ( f30 may not get the tax rebate because of the weight even they share the same engine). BMW are getting cheaper these day, people start driving E and 5ser instead of Carmy and Accord.
BTW, if I am BMW HK. I will put as much as options to the new 528i as standard to make it close or even higher than the old 528i. That will make both new and old customers happy! win win!
