question before delivery

I'm taking delivery of my 535i xdrive friday and got the call today from dealer regarding tire wheel insurance.

I plan on changing the rim's to 20" and asked if the tire / wheel protection will cover the new rims, and they said only if i purchased them thru BMW.

Is that true?

what does everyone do when they plan on changing the rims, to they buy tire/wheel insurance?

The rims i'm down to are

Avant Garde M359 Wheels in the 20x9 / 245/35/20 Conti DWS
Vossen CV4 20x9 245/35/20 Conti DSW
312 Ferric Grey

Thanks

I was told the same by my dealer.... Only oem are covered. I've read the insurance info provided with the insurance and it's not very clear.

Others on the forum has indicated that this is not the case. I'm sure they'll chime in.

Insurance will only cover your OEM wheels and tires.

^^+1 and you also have to buy it at delivery. You will not be able to buy the insurance at a later date after you have taken delivery. Also a lot of dealers will mark this package up a lot so keep that in mind.

If you plan on changing the wheels and or tires don't waste your money on the insurance. If you plan on keeping OEM for a while then it could be a wise investment.
