Carbon splitter
Looking for some advice
I went into my local dealer to get a quote on a front carbon splitter The SA told me that I can't fit one on my F10 530d M Sport, he said that the system was not allowing him to configure this part for my car as it has pedestrian protection and the splitter would interfere with the sensor that activities this. As far as I'm aware this is not an option fitted specifically to my car so don't understand why the part is not compatible when so many F10's have this fitted. Is the pedestrian protection a standard feature? He also told me that I have to have the boot spoiler if I have the front splitter due to safety issues. However my F10 already has a boot spoiler and as far as I can see the carbon version is no different in terms of size/style Anyone come across this issue with their dealership?

Sounds wacky.
How does a front splitter have any bearing on what spoiler you have on the back for safety reasons? Maybe I'm really missing something here! This sounds along the same lines as the guy whose shop is telling him is iDrive screen is dimming in and out because his phone book contains "@" symbols!

It's a stability issue as a front splitter is not just a cosmetic mod it creates down force. I agree with the principal as you then need a rear spoiler to balance the down force created by the front splitter.
However what I don't understand is how the carbon version is any different to the stock version...
