Trunk Storage net/compartment?

Did anyones car come with trunk storage net on one side and on opposite side of trunk a storage compartment?

It is mentioned in F10 owners manual but has an asterisk next to it, think this means it is an option, but I didnt see any option codes to order this?

Interesting, somehow factory or dealer PDC missed this on mine. Tool kit and warning triangle missing too.

Any idea if these are dealer installed when the pre delivery inspection is being done?

upload a pic maybe? I thought those triangles were non-US spec and therefore not included in US cars.

US Cars do not get the Warning Triangle or the First Aid Kit. Blame our government for that. Only items you will see are a screwdriver and a towing hook.

Go to RealOEM and look it up. I'm pretty sure you can order that side interior piece with the netting. I sort of doubt you will be able to just add the net alone and will need the whole side piece though.

Looks like some get this , others do not. I would think it would be included on 550i? why the heck would BMW delete this?

wonder if it has anything to do with build date, mine was built in April 2011,

Do you have ZDA driver assistance pkg, or ZCV Convenience Pkg? I have a hunch that the electronics for these options are what I see when I pull open the "storage" area under the trunk floor. Mine is completely filled with electonics. Perhaps they dont want you to put anything in the storage net and bin I am missing in fear of leaking something and ruining whats under the trunk floor???

No, I have neither of these option packages. Are you saying you don't have a little cubby hole to storage things in the very rear of the trunk just under the floor of the trunk?

I know further toward the front of the car where the spare tire would normally be stored is the car's battery and associated wiring. But in the very rear I also have a little trap door cubby I can place stuff. As well as the net on the left and small uncovered storage on the right.

Nope cubby is there, but when you pull up and open the cover the cubby is full of all kinds of gizmos, no room for any of my stuff.

The 2 items I am missing are the net on left, and small uncovered storage on right.

Ha, the deep storage on the right, seems a perfect place for the battery.
And putting it there, it should open up some space for a sparewheel!

On the F11 no net but panels on both sides.

Mine has all the options and the cubby by the battery is full of "gizmos" (like yours), BUT i do have the net?

You would think they would add the net with all those options since we do not have the area under the cover to store stuff. (I do have the net and you don't, but we both have all the "gizmos" in the rear "cubby"). Seems to be no ryhme or reason...

My build date is Decemeber 2010 and I think you said yours is April 2011, so maybe they just stopped providing that net in later production (which is silly). It would be nice if there was actually a net on both sides (instead of now maybe no net on either side).

Oh well, "net" worth getting our panties in a bunch (just more cost savings for BMW I suppose and things they think we will not notice or miss)...

IMO net is too small to put anything big in it. I use it for putting my empty grocery bag and nothing else. What's more useful is the grocery hook that's above the net. I ordered another one and replaced right side clip with it too.

UPDATE

Visted my dealer today, my CA and I looked at several new F10's, none of which optioned as mine (ZDA, ZCV).They all had the elevated little storage box on right, none had net on left.

Furthermore, the in stock F10's little storage box platform on right sat at the same heigth as my non boxed derivative, and after a little FBI work we determined that the steel body/chassis component under my cars left/right fender trunk are solid and higher, leading us to the conclusion that the blind spot detection radar has been placed under there, taking up the space where the box would go.

As far as the net on the left, its a mystery, BMW must have deleted this some point during the MY...

So now, mystery solved, need to find some type of modular compact storage that can hold small stuff + a new storage net. Been using the same net I have transferred from car to car since my '93 325iA, but F10 hooks are lined up completely differently , doenst fit in the F10 trunk.....
