I think people discussed this already? But any of you will do the first oil change between 4k to 6k km? If so, any recommended shop for F10 oil change? Pls don't suggest me to do in the parking lot, same as most you guys, I don't have tools and patient.

Why r u feed your beast that 5w40 crap? You should list engine oil as one of the exceptions to the rule "more expensive is better" ..
Hot? .. i don't think i 'get' engine oil yet .. perhaps better i don't, seems very massive subject to understand
Ai, u tried all these oils, i only 1 .. talk to u in 10yrs ..

Me? I have an auto shop which I used for my previous bimmers for more than 10+ years in Chi Wan near BMW. But I forgot how much. If any of you bros want the contact let me know.

I didn't do that
My first oil changed two weeks ago at 12300 Km.
Didn't feel any smoother after oil changing, so it may no need to do at 4-6K.
Just my personal thinking, don't take it seriously, bros!

Since I went to dealer to do oil-change together with spring swap, maybe they forgot to change oil?

Motul 300v x1000...
Just like Cognac for your engine - silky smooth
The only engine oil made out of ester, once you try it there is no turning back though

I can say with honor I was a 66' iMIT undergraduate though we actually didn't have any code number for any "course" back then in the INNER MONGOLIAN Institute of Technology.(內蒙科院)

BTW, mit stands for Man In Trouble while my wife's codename CIT means C9 In Trouble.

I felt smoother on first startup, but may be placebo effect, can't tell these things the difference is too small.

If you want to check if they did it, check filter cap for finger prints, esp. if you haven't touched it before there should be a fine layer of dust on it by now
Or buy this cheapest oil filter wrench, 23rmb shipped
http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=10807648604
take off the filter cap, if it wasn't changed it'll be black as hell (think you know this since you changed your oil b4)

"CIT" coming after Man In Trouble leads one to think of quite rude names..

I did checked, but it's already ran 1,300 KMs after oil changing.
Perhaps I will check that after next, of course need your help-tools!

Just had a chat with the guys at WK today regarding oil change. Since they are fixing my car, I asked them to do an oil change as well. Talked about Motul 300V and turns out they have bad experience with Motul 300V for recent BMWs. Apparently, a customer used Motul 300V for oil change and computer warning came on in the computer. After draining and replacing with Mobil1, warning when away.

So I am sticking with Mobil1 0W-40.......
