First time I saw this and saved me the rest of my day ! Loved it...

Still didn't realise what was 13 miles and what was 14 mins, any idea?

Based on how the prior generation iDrive with traffic info works in my E90, I'd say that the interpretation is as follows:

"In 2.9 miles, you will encounter a traffic delay that is 13 miles long and which will delay your arrival time by 14 minutes."

I assumed it meant that it added 13 miles and 14 minutes to the current route (without traffic congestion). That seemed to fit the few times I received the message. The manual doesn't appear to cover it although it has two pages of disclaimers on using it.
