HR Sport Springs Installed - Night & Day Difference!!

After coming from a '12 M3, I've been lamenting over having to get rid of it. When I decided to pull the trigger on my '13 535i xDrive, I knew it wasn't gonna hold a candle in the wind to the handling of the M3...and that was bumming me out. When I picked up the 535, bone stock it felt like a boat (no disrespect intended to other owners here, I'm coming from comparing it to the M3). So, it felt like a boat on every turn I took...couldn't stand it.

But then, one fine day, after reading up on various springs and coil upgrades, I decided to try out the HR Sports. I just got the car back this evening from the install and while it's still settling in, I absolutely fricken LOVE it. No joke. Love. 1.6" drop on the fronts and 1.3 on the rears. Feels like it's so nimble and easily throwable (is that a word?) into corners! And as for looks...just sik. The stance looks fierce and the feel of the drive is at a different level. Totally feels like a different car!

If you're looking for the best of the sedan while having a tighter, sportier, "throwable" ride...HR Sport Springs are the way to go, IMO. Btw, I picked 'em up for $256 and got 'em installed at APM in Elmhurst, IL (Chi-town burb). Great guys there and they did awesome work!

Can't go wrong with these springs! I have a new found love for driving my ride!

Mods so far: JB4 S1, M Performance Exhaust & HR Sport Springs

Before (1st 2) and after (last 3) pics are below. They're off my iPhone so not the highest res...and the after pics are at night after leaving the install shop.

Congrats and welcome to the club. My H&R's were the 2nd mod I did about 2 weeks after delivery of my car. Definitely worth it in terms of stance and drive ability.

Thats a nice drop! Sometimes i wish my ACS springs were a smidge lower up front but i can't complain. I scrape my front lip now as is if i'm not careful.

FWIW, I stepped into a 2013 535i xDrive a couple weeks ago and even coming from a 2010 535i xDrive, it feels a rather boat-like by comparison . (Which is something I didn't even notice as much when I went from 2008 335i xDrive to the 2010 535).

However, your and others' stories of various, not-bank-breaking suspension mods have gave me hope, and were the only reason I felt confident in going with this f10 over waiting for a '13 335i to land (not to mention, oddly enough, I got a much better deal on this 535 with comparable options and I do very much appreciate the extra space and comfort the 535 provides on days when I would rather relax than go nuts in the car).

I think this has been discussed before, but has anyone had any issues with dealers getting in a twist over warranty issues when folks have suspension mods like this on the car?

Thanks for all the compliments, Everyone. As it's settling in, the ride is getting even better. Can't explain it, but it's nice and tight and hugs the road. Because of it's size and weight, it's not gonna feel like it's on rails completely, but for the frame size of the 5, it rides real nice.

As for warranty issues, I have no clue. I did take the car in for a quick service check and they had it for an hour regarding an unrelated issue, but they didn't say anything about the drop to me or any potential warranty conflicts of interest.

This is exactly what I am looking for for my drop. Not slammed but a nice rake. Rear seems ok as is but front is a 4x4.

Can you share the model or part number of the H and R? I have been told there are different versions and dont want to get the wrong ones.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for posting. West suburb myself and ordered springs, wheels, and tires from APM in Elmhurst, IL. Mark is great to work with, can't wait for the install next week.

No issues with your xdrive after the drop right?

for alignment, does it have to be done at the stealership or any good indy shop is capable of aligning it?
