Difficulty filling up gas?

Anyone else finding it very difficult to fill up gas? It seems like the insert is very narrow and the pump doesnt fit into it. It also is shaped in a very ackward position. Is this normal on all BMW's?

I don't have that problem but I do get a "please tighten the gas cap!" message when I start my car in the morning at least twice a week.

I have no issues. But you are right, the angle is a bit awkward. Have you tried different gas stations? All the same issue with the nozzles? The nozzle size should be standard, and the car should accommodate.

Diesel in uk is £1.489 a litre.

That's £6.76 a UK gallon

That's $10.77 per uk gallon.

I always find that crazy every time I am in the UK. That would hurt the pocket big time. Luckily you guys are a small country and getting public transport to most places is easy. All the people i know use their cars mostly to drive a mile to the train station and on the weekends. In the UK the average miles driven in about 7500 while here its closer to 15000 so I guess that helps too.

Very limited public transport where I live as I am in a rural area. I drive about 30,000 miles a year...

Agreed, that's not normal though.

I got my car 3 months ago and I already put 12000 miles on it and the worst part it's a lease. Thank God I'm in with it and I'm keeping it.

Public transport isn't really an alternative though.

You must be from New Jersey (People are not allowed to fuel up their own car in NJ, so most don't know how).

JK. No issues with mine, I like narrow inserts.

No pump your own in NJ is the stupidest rule ever. I hated every single fill up in that state, and I had a lot of them living on the border and getting cheaper gas there, and then living there as well. You had to wait for the lazy-ass attendants to stroll their way out of the booth and take care of one customer at a time. Oh, and this was in the days before pump mounted cards so when you were done they had to run into the booth to charge your card.

Took freaking forever! Much rather do it myself (and did, and got yelled at and didn't care!).

Job security, bro. Apparently that law has been in NJ since 1949, since the Garden State believes Snookie might blow up the damn gas station if she gets near flammable liquids. Be careful pumping your own gas in NJ and OR, I know there's a $500 fine in OR.

I learned something new today. I've been living here in Michigan all my life and I've never heard of that. Im always in a rush. I can't imagine waiting for some guy to fill up my tank.

I guess the government doesn't trust you New Jersey guys

Anyways, filling up gas takes me forever because the pump's safety shutoff feature always goes off regardless of how much pressure I put on it. And this happens at multiple gas stations around my area.
