bought a 2011 550i M-Sport want tires and wheels that fit
Need help...Im looking to get new wheels for my 2011 550i M sport. I want 20 inch Vossen V7. I can go 8.5 or 9 inch upfront and 10 inch out back. What is the best tire size? Can I go 255/30/20's up front and 295/25/20 out back? I do not want rubbing and want to avoid spacers. Any help would be appreciated.
I have bought a M5 competition exhaust from a member a few days ago, waiting for BMW racing team to install next week and have ordered, a new carbon diffuser, rear spoiler, rear window valance, front spoiler, and windows tinted. I will post when finished...right now looks like ever other car. |

Depends on what Vossen has setup for the 5 series already unless they offer custom offsets? Have you inquired?

I run the nittos all season motivo 255/35/20 and 295/30/20 on my 2011 535i with no issues. Standard suspension, rims are VMR 710 9×20/10×20 with a 35 offset (pretty sure). I'll include the tire specs. Rolling diameter is a little bigger than factory spec but I don't plan on dropping, roads here are not so great. Don't know the offset on the rims you are looking at, you'll need to get that. Hope this helps. If you want some close up picks of how flush the 295s are let me know.

Better to have that more sidewall protection plus the fact a larger tire print for better traction. I noticed a big difference on traction...not so much sidewall protection for me tho since I'm sitting on 21's

New wheels today
Just got my 20x9 and 20x10.5 Vossen CV7's on today......tires 255/35/20 and 295/30/20 back.....love it..but it needs lowered...going with Dinan 1/2 lowering springs...unless Im doing the wrong thing. I only want to lower it 1/2 inch and NOT screw up the ride. I have heard that Dinan is the way to go..yes?
Yesterday I wrapped the roof gloss black, 2 weeks from now Im getting the new M5 Competition exhaust installed and the front spoiler and rear spoiler paint silver, and installing the rear carbon diffuse/r and carbon rear window spoiler..can not wait.. |

AWESOME! they wheels look tiny unless your car is sitting really high...must be the wheel gap?! sky high like mine! as for the diffuser/roof spoiler what style are you going with?

Bought a "competition M5 exhaust" off a member here last week and waiting for Classic BMW's Race team to install it...One of the benefits of living 4 miles from them. Im talking to another member about buying his KW? coil overs he had on his car before he sold it. said they are 2300 new, and he would sell me his for 1100....was looking at AC S..springs I just want to lower it w/o screwing up the ride..and I do not want it to low....I understand the Dinan Springs do not lower the Msport ride height cars,as they are already 1/2 inch lower than the non-Msport cars...(per BMW)..So i need springs that are 1 inch lower and Im good to go...

I wanted this style for the trunk spoiler but there's none for the 5 series unless you found one? Cool on the diffuser... I have the same one! keep in mind that the diffuser is for an M5 and the exhaust sits more inward so you'll have to make some minor adjustments to your exhaust

^^^ Not sure but can find out. I just called Discount tire. Ask for 9x20 front and 10.5x20 rear and this is what they sent me. The nice thing about discount tire is they always pre-fit the wheels. In other words..if I go in there telling them what I want and it does NOT fit..then I own it...however if I go in there and ask them what fits, then the burden is on them as the expert. IF the wheels would of not been right they simple would of shipped them back, and got some new ones that do fit. I will take some more photos but I could not ask for a better fit. The 295/30/20 tires are perfect. Now which way to lower the car...simple springs, or remove a lot and go coil overs....its not the money but I do not want to remove the factor tuned shocks if I can help it. ACS springs? any thoughts

The place i got it from was in Taiwan, or something like this...and they paint it for you if you want..I chose to have it painted my body color......the rear window spoiler I kept carbon fiber. the front spoiler Im painting along with the enitre front bummer. There are a few rock chips in it and I do not want a freshly painted spoiler and rock chipped bumper. ALSO I decided not to lower my car.....I was going to do coil overs KWV1's but Im not pay 1300 to 1800 to have them installed. plus 1400-2300 for the kit....its not worth it for 1/2 inch -1 inch...I will live with the gap....

Well 3 places in North Dallas quotes me any where from 1300 to 1800.....I'm not going to go just any where to have something like this installed. I do not want to F^)^( up my car.....if anyone knows of a reputable place please do tell. A member has a set of barely used KW-1's for 1100 but once again I'm not buying anything until I find a installer. I can not and would not do it my self.....Thanks... P.S your silver car looks great.
