Today I brought in my BMW for an oil change. I get pretty busy so I have my wife drop it off for me most of the time and she always comes home with a loaner.
I happen to be out of work and out on baby ? bonding for the next month . I took a little time to myself and decide to go in for an oil change and the guy tells me they need an oil change, flush break fluid and change wipers as part of a 2 yr service. I say ok no problem 1.5 hrs later I pick up my car and guys hand me my key and tell me I'm set. I asked how much do I owe? Nothing it's all included in your extended warranty!

WTF; first I didn't know I ever purchased extended warranty and let alone a warranty that covers normal service maintenance. The guy said it's good for 100k mil. I was stoked, wife has never mentioned ever not getting billed for oil change.

Here's my questions - anyone else have this warranty? Is it 3,5, 6, 8 years or 100k miles? What else does my warranty cover? I think I threw all my paper work bec I can't find them so I'm also curious what this "warranty cost me" (btw the vehicle was purchased new and wasn't leased)

My mind was blown!! Still a little confused but I want gonna pay for service the guy said was free service when I was expecting to put out 2-3 hundred

Garage List
2015 BMW X5  [10.00]
2013 BMW M5 [SOLD]  [10.00]
2013 BMW 535i [SOLD]  [10.00]
So BMW has a normal warranty that covers if anything breaks and they also have a service warranty that covers all the services (ie the brake fluid...). If the first owner bought these, the second owner still gets to use the benefits of it.

This.

Original BMW warranty = 4yrs/50K miles (includes free regularly scheduled maintenance program)
BMW Certified Pre-Owned warranty = adds 2yrs/50K to original warranty once it has elapsed (so technically the total comes to 6yrs./100K miles, but this will NOT include free regular maintenance)

Wasn't aware you could extend the maintenance program beyond the 4yr/50K, but I suppose anything is possible if you pay the premium. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Nice having a warranty, right? I've owned several BMWs (mostly M-cars) and they've all been out of warranty by the time I took ownership and man have I paid for it over the years...

Yes, the maintenance agreement can be extended to 6yr/100K miles. I did it on our '12 535i for $2100. I'm not totally sure it was a wise expenditure...

2015 and later maintenance doesn't extend to subsequent owners; original purchaser/leasor only ...
