Which MS-8 config looks better?
Hi,
I have purchased several speakers and amp listed below for my sound upgrade and would like to have your opinion which options would be better. - Focal 100KRS on front door (installed with OEM amp for now) - Focal 3w2BE on center(Not installed, yet) - 2 sets of Earthquake SWS 8xi (Not installed. 2Ohm config) - Ground Zero GZUA 5600DX 5Ch amp (90W*4, 150W*1 @ 4Ohm condition. Not installed) - JBL MS-8 As MS-8 only has limit of 8 channel I face challenges Idea 1. - CH1 = Left Hi 90W amped - CH2 = Right Hi 90W amped - CH3 = Center - CH4 = Left mid 90W amped - CH5 = Right mid 90W amped - CH6 = Underseat woofer 150W amped with 2+2=4 Ohm <-- serial connection, making mono - CH7 = Left Rear - CH8 = Right Rear Idea 2. - CH1 = Left Front 90W amped <-- using Focal passive network - CH2 = Right Front 90W amped <-- using Focal passive network - CH3 = Center - CH4 = Left under seat 90W amped - CH5 = Right under seat 90W amped - CH6 = Left Rear - CH7 = Right Rear - CH8 = Not used (save it for sub woofer, later) I tried to search for under seat woofer connectivity from the forum whether it is okay to bind into one, but it seems no one has tried. (guess this is not recommended) For amp connection, I am happy to hear as well as channel distribution. Also would be glad if you could share xover settings. Professional installer suggests not to connect rear as logic7 normally works for movies and center staging will be made mostly by using front door cut over frequencies which seems he prefer configuring using Audison Beat 10 or Mosconi.
