Car always Dirty

I own a 520 M Sport. Does anyone notice that as soon as there is a little water on the road the driver rear panel gets dirty real quick. I am sure it is due to the width of the tires but i hate a dirty car. Can was also covered in tar marks and it isnt the summer yet.

Was tools mud guards dont come form the M Sport but another poster is trying to source them.

Just your thoughts please on the dirt.

Silvers are best for camouflaging dirt lol. White shouldn't be too bad either compared with dark colours like solid black. Just have to keep washing, I guess.

If by "driver rear panel" you mean the back end of the car, any vehicle with such a high vertical slab of a rear end will, with forward motion, create a low-pressure zone in that area. This means that it will attract road spray and any other dirt as if by magic - if you don't like a dirty car, you'll just have to clean it more often .
As to tar spots, I'd recommend Autosmart Tardis - amazing stuff.

As I have found in comparing my previous car, a Le Mans Blue E92, to my current AW F10, white may be boring, but it's a lot easier to keep clean and, more importantly for me, the stone chips don't show up because the primer is the same colour.

It all depends on personal standards and I'll take it that you speak for yourself.
In my case: arctic white - washed twice a week - very rarely dirty .

Guys i knew it was a risk getting white but rest of car is OK and gets washed twice a week but minute road is damp it effects only drivers side and id really annoying. I take great pride in the looks but i think its a slight design flaw.

I know some people are trying to source mud guards so not alone here and hopefully this will reduce the spray.

Have you noticed it is only drivers side that gets the mark at rear wheel arch but passenger is ok yet there should be more road water on passenger side (yes we do drive on correct side of road lol)

Primer is usually grey, I thought. Light grey, but still grey.

Is Arctic White a solid paint?

Yes Artic White is the free solid paint. Bill has posted on another thread he has mud guards fitted and posted pics and you can clearly see it extends out which will fix my issue. Will be on mine at weekend weather permitting.

I think you mean Alpine White

I am not familiar with Arctic white..

I too have ordered the Alpine and the only issue I worry about is keeping Tar specs off the paint..

I have the same problem and for me it's because of the wider wheels in the back.

You're correct in assuming that the primer is grey, but it's very light and, having gone from a dark blue car to a white one, I can assure you that they are almost invisible in comparison.
Having just emerged from a nasty Scottish winter, during which my car was in constant use, I am so relieved that I chose white - boring I know, but the car looks almost as good as when I drove out of the showroom last September.
In answer to your second question: yes, the white is solid.

Hey, it's white and, regardless of semantics, it's the only white they do unless you go for individual. However, you are perfectly correct to highlight my error and I apologise if I confused you .
As to tar spots: I don't know if you can get it over there, but Autosmart Tardis is amazing stuff - just spray it on and the tar spots dissolve within seconds.
You won't regret getting Alpine White - I find it far easier to maintain than darker colours.

Sounds like you're drifting is biased to left hand corners, try throwing it the other way for a bit - that should distribute the dirt more evenly .
Alternatively and to save excessive tyre wear, you could try washing the car more frequently .

I have just read the mudguard thread also and they sound like a good idea. I think I might have them also. Mine is on schedule to go into production this week and I hope I am not too late to change the spec now.

Mine on order is Imperial Blue and I rarely wash my car (perhaps 4 or 5 times a YEAR!). Perhaps I should have gone for another silver like my current E61.

Scientifically, there is a strong correlation between a car's tar marks and its owners underwear.

I guess the Havana metallic is the most practical if you dont want to clean your car. But then again, maybe washing your car isn`t so bad after all

I have AW car as well. Yes the back gets much dirtier, but the dirt is even, from what I can tell. I would suggest getting some microfiber towels and a quick detailer to spray down the car in between car washes. Washing a car twice a week is really unnecessary.

Maybe in LA, not so in Scotland - unless you particularly like having a dirty car.
