Help: Anyone installed Oil catch can for N20 engine (520i or 528i)

Hi all,
I got a oil catch can for my N20 engine, not sure about where it will be installed. I assume it will be at the pipe from engine to air intake line as picture below.

Does anyone have experience of it?

Thank you

I am looking to add this too. Which brand of OCC did you get? Can you show us a photo of how it looks after installation?

Hi,
There are several OCC you can get, I got Mishimoto brand.
Link order here:
https://www.ecstuning.com/b-mishimot...fiber/mmocccf/

Photo of after it is installed :

I have to cut oil suction line connect between crank case and intake tube. It requires reduction adapters (yellow cooper) to fit with OCC.

I have used OCC for 2 years and I only see very little oil in OCC, I believe N20 engine has a very good designed oil separator not like other previous engines. You should consider the need!

What are the sizes of the reduction adapters and what did you use to mount the OCC?

Hi,
I did not remember what size it is. After cut, I measured and got a local shop to make copper reducer. At that time there was not available completed OCC yet.
Now I see there are some completed OCC for this N20 engine, you should consider it

Was it collecting a lot of oil by the way? And also the catch cans for the N20 motor are only for the 2-4 series. They dont fit the 5 series.. But I have everything ready I just have to figure out how to mount it. I am trying to find a bracket like the one you have on your car.

Very little oil were found in OCC of my N20 520i after 20k miles. I checked it every 5k miles, it was almost completely dry, only thin dry oil layer found. I believe stock PCV working well for this engine.

Do you know the name of the clip that you used to mount on that strut bar. I can't seem to find it anywhere.

Hi, I also tried to find in ebay but can not see. The clips I bought from my local market here, it's easy to find!

Do you still have the link to the mounting bracket? Also, what can did you use? Did you have to modify it or the hoses at all?

OCC installed

I installed one on my 535..gets alot of that shit out so it's not going back through the intake and getting burned up in the ports.. I'll take more pics with the cover off, some trimming was needed and some fancy hose work.. but it's simple and well worth it IMO

I would like to see this too, installed my Mishimoto CC in the same spot as yours, with the hoses routed like they advise for the F30 but that isn't it.
