Where can I find this accessory?

This might be the most frivolous question I've posted in my life, but I'm curious. I want to get one of those headrest mounted hangers. The one that shows up on amazon, ebay, and in the BMW Accessory catalog is the one below. The thing I don't like about it is it looks like you have to adjust the headrest fairly high for it to fit... and I don't like the headrest there. Conversely, the one in the pic on the bottom looks more slim in the mounting area but I can't find it anywhere on the BMW website, even though that's where the pic came from. Anyone know where I can find it?

Clumsy looking one...

Nice looking one...

They have this in my dealership! Maybe ask the salesperson to order you one? ( I think you can get a 20% off coupon as well)

I'm from Vancouver Canada btw, so might be different.. I'm assuming that they offer roughly the same services tho

I'll definitely give them a ring. And worst case I'll be in Vancouver next month so I can swing by a dealer and grab one. It's time to ride Whistler!!!

Thanks!

The top picture is from an E90 and the bottom from an F25 X3. Therefore, you should theoretically be able to get either. Look on BMWs accessory catalog online and you should be able to find it.

That's where I looked but I couldn't find the lower one. I'll try searching specifically for the X3 and see what comes up. My luck the distance between he head rest supports is different

I'd be interested to know too, I just recently ordered the first one and I didn't even know the second one existed! What a pity, it looks so much sleeker. What is the source of the second image? I Googled "bmw coat hanger" and all I get is the first one. Its like the second one just doesn't exist.

Darrko, I actually found it by accident and it was on the BMW accessory web site. Oddly enough when I searched again today I didn't see it. I think I searched "BMW headrest hanger" and clicked images and there it was. The picture links right to the BMW site... but now I can't find it.

Any BMW dealer can order it

The new system uses a "base" that fits between the headrest posts, you can then attach the coathanger or Ipad holder or Folding table or Universal hook too it

Here are the part numbers

Base "51 95 2 183 852"
Coat Hanger "51 95 2 183 854"

Oh, you rock!

Now can I bitch about how I can't put a cargo net in my trunk because the anchors were an option too?

Are you only missing the 2 anchors near the seats ( 1 on each side near teh passenger end of the trunk ) ?
Are the 2 by the rear edge ( near where the trunk lid meets the trunk ) there?

You may be able to buy and add the anchors then.
You would have to cut a small hole for each in the side panels.
I have seen this done on the E90 a couple times.

Let me look over lunch. It's the ones near the trunk lid I'm not sure about.

Well, I was wrong once again. The BMW accessories web page states "Vehicle must be equipped with Storage Compartment Package option 493." to use the cargo net. That option isn't listed on my car's sheet, yet I have the anchors.

So I'll shut up and order the net. Thanks for the info!

BTW The net folds up nicely and fits in the empty emergency container attached to the underside of the trunk lid (I also have a folding emergency triangle that fits in the slot perfectly but I have know idea where I got it because I've had it for at least 10 years).

Tischer BMW's online parts site (which is very good, BTW) is able to get the newer style gear. It's not in their online system yet, but I received an e-mail from them telling me they can get it to me within 2 business days. Prices are below if anyone is interested. As was mentioned above, the base can also be used with the iPad bracket for backseat entertainment.

Base "51 95 2 183 852" -------------->$17.22
Coat Hanger "51 95 2 183 854" ------>$62.66

Yep! Just go to that parts website and send them an e-mail. Here was the response I got from them.

Hey Scott, thanks for your interest. Although these part numbers aren’t yet mastered in our online database, they are available to order from BMW(2-3 business days to get here once ordered):

51952183852 $17.22

51952183854 $62.22

Let me know if you’d like to order, and I’ll help you get it set up on the site.

Thanks again for keeping us in mind,

Are pics from a X3, not sure if the back is always black. If it would have been possible in the F1x, I'd have taken Oyster/Black(/Black) iso Cinnamon...
