Fan/AC Power in 2013 model
Hey guys,
Anyone with a 2013 or similar year model, hows your AC? Reason I ask is because is it normal to have to turn the fan to around 3rd or 4th light to get some airflow going? I had a 2016 loaner 3 series and even on 1 light the airflow was really good.

You won't get the high flow rates on a low intensity setting, there is auto adjustment of the air flow in Auto mode, but a more gentle range. |

I have a 2016 and I have mine set to the 3rd intensity level during the wintertime and the 4th level in the summertime for more airflow. The first two intensity levels don't provide enough airflow for me.
Remember that the fan setting in AUTO mode controls the maximum intensity the fan WILL blow to achieve the set temperature rather than controlling the fan speed directly. If you want to control the fan speed directly, you need to be in manual mode. In regards to the 3 series loaner you have, I had a 2013 335i and the fan was much noisier than the 5 series so it always seemed like it was blowing more air even though it wasn't. I'm much happier with the performance of my 5 series auto climate control. |
