528i chrome delete

Hi everyone, I’m looking to do a chrome delete on my 528i. I’m not for sure what the chrome piece is called that’s right before the front wheels. Does anyone know how to get those off to be wrapped or if you can just buy them in black. Attached an image for reference. TYIA

Trian any chance do you have a link, and do they just pop off or are they using an adhesive to be attached?

+1 to IND Distribution.
The quality of their work is excellent!
https://ind-distribution.com/

OP: I'm not familiar with the pre-LCI but for my 15' (F10) LCI those side markers serve not function other than to fill the hole (turn signals moved to the side mirrors). When I installed, they just slide back and use a plastic pry tool to pop them right out. Plenty of youtube videos out there.

Wrapping would be the cheapest or even paint & coat yourself. Personally, I prefer the durability and quality of a finished paint. To each their own, imo.

I was so happy with the front reflectors I received from IND that I went ahead and bought their gloss black side markers. I'm considering having IND paint my old ones Alpine White in the future (they'll do the chrome trim on door handles too!).

(Edit: ok, after re-read, yours are just side markers (LCI) - they pop off - no adhesive)

Here's a pic of their work:

ctcarbonari Yeah, that is it! I think I would rather spend the $175 and have it nicely painted. It looks great on your car!

Thank You! I'm still a bit "on the fence about it". May ultimately end up going with Alpine White....but hey, at least it's NOT chrome.... Those side markers are the most useless asthetic thing on the LCI (F10)s.

IND really does excellent work! Their quality is unmatched.
Last time I checked they had matte black & gloss black "in stock". However, if you contact them, I'm sure they'd paint it any color you desired.

Good Luck! They really are easy to pop off once you find the sweet spot.

Hi Pitz585, I added these to my 2011, and like them a LOT!
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09KMJ7RZ6

FWIW I also bought these to replace the front reflectors: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07X91FWQ5

And these in the back: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D857LMW

On dark cars they all look great!

I have bought some vinyl wrap for the door handle inserts, but haven't done them yet. I obviously added some black grills as well. They're kind of cheapy so maybe spend some more for those if you haven't already.

Wrap them with 3M 3" stripe black vinyl from Amazon. No need to take them off. It is easy to wrap all around.

No doubt wrapping is the cheapest route for changing the color of side markers and when done correctly will provide a decent finish that will last quite awhile.

Personally, I prefer the finish quality, resistance to abrasion, and lifespan longevity of a well done paint job over a wrap every time. Even for a part as small as a side marker.

Call me old fashion.

I tried to find actual carbon fiber side marker pieces for my LCI F10, but had no luck on the usual sites. Wrap was my only option unfortunately. I share your sentiments however, much rather have an actual piece than a wrap.

Actual Carbon Fiber side markers would be pretty friggin cool...!!!
I've never seen or heard of them either.

Out of curiosity, did you CF wrap the chrome trim on your handles too?
That could be a really nice touch!

As much I want to paint mine, I know that my painted finish product ends up being about a "B-" quality, at best. Depending upon how much longer I can stand looking at them, I'll probably end up wrapping those.

Since we’re sharing, I did the IND color matched sidemarkers and I couldn’t be happier. It was a birthday present to myself.

Those look great! Color is spot on.
IND really does nice work.

My desire for Alpine White side markers is triggered again.
Fortunately, I have a B-Day coming up this summer.
That's a good enough reason for me. lol

Looks good. I replaced the front orange reflectors with the painted ones from IND. They were also a perfect colour match and took all of 15 minutes to install.

Without a doubt, swapping out the front reflectors has been my most favorite aesthetic "upgrade".

I used painted ones from IND as well. They actually sand down the new OEM reflectors prior to paint.

Took me a bit longer than 15 mins, but that may just have been because I had to spend time finding a shoelace to sacrifice for the cause.

I has previously used gloss black on the door handle chrome bits since the car has the shadowline trim pretty much everywhere else. I swapped the grille with the M Performance gloss black one as well.

Not a fan of paint either, it's a hit or miss (largely a miss in my case) so I opted for the wrap. As long as you buy a quality one, it'll last a long time.
