Engine stop

Sorry if this has been discussed.
Is there anyway to change the settings, so the radio on mode
is not switched on when I press the start/stop button to stop the engine?
Kind of weird I have to press the button twice to completely switch
everything off. Thanks!

Have you tried the forum's search function?

The radio will go off by itself in about 5 minutes.

Or you can lock the car.

But to answer your question, NO.

I recommend you listen to either 'Let it Be' by the Beatles or 'Stop!' by Janes Addiction.

"Radio silence" by Thomas Dolby works for me.

To answer your question correctly...

YES, Press AND HOLD the start/stop button a few seconds (until it shuts all the way off).

Not sure how listening to the Beatles will help, but you can try that also.

Oh and the forum's search function will not shutdown your car (no need to try that).

Hope this helps...

thank you guys so much, 5 minutes seems way too long,
I wish it could be changed in settings.
But I guess I can get used to ignoring it and simply locking the car.

Did you see my post? Just hold the start/stop button for a couple of seconds (one long press) when shutting off the engine and it will shut all the way off and not go into (i.e. bypass) radio mode.

BTW, I think it is more like 15 minutes and not long enough sometimes if you are into a movie or something.

Sorry, mine does not work with a long press. It only works with 2 presses or 1 press and lock.

My bad, works like that on an E60. Just tried the long press with my F10 and it does not work like that. Two presses or lock the car seem to be the only option (weird that they took something simple like that away)

No, as many have noted, you can also press once to stop the engine, and then either lock the car or wait for it to go to sleep on its own.
