My 1st road trip and some observations
We just got back from the first road trip in our brand new 535i.
Tripled my milage in one day Anyway, coming from E60 550i, I got some quick observations comparing those two completely different cars. I got my 550i for myself but very quickly lost it to my better half. She loved the car, the size and everything about it except the sport suspension (I had the M package). So we decided this time we would get a "softer" car to compensate the bad roads. We got our 535i last week thanks to Will at Nick Alexander - by far the coolest car salesman ever. The new F10 is a completely different car. So much bigger and more luxurious. The interior is much improved. The new navigation is a huge jump. The only thing I don't like is the placement of the iDrive knob - I don't get why the stupid ashtray is more important to BMW designers. Also the start/stop button works great for starting the engine, but to switch it off I need to press it twice for some reason. I'd like to have that option changed in settings. The suspension is really good, not too soft but still the roads got so much better suddenly, as my wife said... The steering is too soft for me and not responsive enough. I know it's not fair to compare this car to the 550i, but still, it should feel more connected IMO. The engine is good, I can't push it yet, but the acceleration is good. I love the trunk opening, way better than the previous touch only. Side mirrors are way better too. My wife loves the car and that's all what matter Last edited by snowboarder; 05-15-2011 at 01:05 AM.. |
