Originally purchased from Tischer BMW Accessories (getbmwparts.com) in Oct 2014. this a genuine BMW part and works with all Apple iPhone 5/5S phones for direct plug and play and function control thru iDrive. Ensures connectivity with Connect (6NS, 2013 and on). Adapter fits BMW 3,4, 5,6,7 Series cars with NBT Nav Systems and smartphone option and cradle. Retails $250 at dealers. Great deal guys.

Don't understand the question. It connect to the iPhone via the lightning connector port in the bottom of the iPhone. You snap the cradle into its adapter point and then the iPhone goes into the cradle. It then connects to I drive using the USB connection part. BT is unused and saved for telephone functions not streaming audio. Hope that helps.

That clarifies my question. Some of these snap-in adapters only charge the phone via the lightning connector and don't connect the usb to the car.

Yes this one both charges and connects via USB.
