Tire Wear Front vs Rear

I have a 2011 528i. A year and half ago I put on Forgestar 19" wheels with Hankook Ventus V12 tires (245/40/19 up front, 285/35/19 in back). I have approximately 15,000 miles on the set and the fronts are wearing significantly faster than the rears. The fronts look like I'll get another 4-5,000 miles out of them, the rears look like they will be good for another 15,000 miles. The wear on the fronts is even and I did have an alignment performed after the install. I don't really drive the car hard, so I thought I might get a little more wear out of the fronts.

So, which tires wear faster for you? Fronts or Rears? What model F10 and type of tire?

I'm kind of surprised that the rears have more tread left compared to the fronts, but at the same time, the fronts do have a big job. Most of the braking is done up front, as well as turning and whatnot. I'd say from my experience, most people usually have the rears wear out faster, but not necessarily at a super even rate.

That was my thought as well. It seems that all of the used sets of tires I see in the Classifieds have more tread left on the front tires

The rears will usually wear faster. But again if you are easy on the gas and harder on the brakes its definitely possible to wear down the fronts faster.

wow, thats weird, you might wanna check your alignment. Your rears should have gone out faster for sure!
