I decoded my vin and it states that I have both , a friend of mine has the xenon and it’s stamped on headlights. I have looked everywhere on mine and don’t see it . Could my headlamps been swapped out or am I missing something . Thanks

You don't say "what" car your friend has...does he have the same model/model year you have?

Plus...a picture of your lights and their lights would be worth a thousand words. I believe the f10 (in the US market) could be optioned with 4 different headlight set-ups:

1. Halogen
2. Xenon (S522A)
3. Adaptive Xenon (S524A & S522A option codes respectively)
4. Adaptive LED (S552A option code)

IIRC, only the US 528's had the option of Xenon/HID. The other 2 engine options had adaptive HID/Xenon standard. 550's had standard items that were options on the 535 (and sometimes the 528) and the 535 had standard items that were options on the 528. You also can't compare a 3 to a 5; just like you can't compare a 5 to a 7.

Neither of my 535's have Xenon stamped on the headlight that I see. Look for a high voltage warning sticker on the shield above the headlight. Also, when your headlights come on do they dip then rise to level? That indicates adaptive Xenon/HID.

I’m just wondering why his headlights have xenon stamped on the headlight housing and mine doesn’t . I guess cause it was standard ? It’s more of a curious thing

I would venture a guess that's a 3 vs 5 thing.

Ahh...no need to post a pic. The fact that one is a 3 series and yours is a 5 series answers the question. You could look at any 2011 3/5/6/7 series and none of their headlights will look alike....even though they all may be halogen, xenon, adaptive xenon, or adaptive LED...each platforms headlights are different although the underlying lighting technology may be the same.
