Ordered. Dare I complain about the $4.95 "handling fee"?

Please Hold Off On Purchasing This Accessory

A couple of us are having pricing issues with Tischer over this item and the way the website stacks the order. We'll let you know if/when it gets cleared up. It's been a lovely process

Please refrain from detering business our way.

As explained via email and in the descriptions of this item on our site, the components of this system, including the base, are all sold individually. You have to add each part to your cart individually, including the base. The reason the special was built this way is because you would not want to order a new base with each attachment, if you were adding new attachements later, or replacing one of the components. The prices shown beside the items in the dropdown menu are the price modifiers from the base at the posted price of $17.22.

Current (as of 2/28) MSRP pricing from BMW and our online discounted price on these items:

Base - MSRP: $21.53, getBMWparts.com discoutned price: $17.22
Universal Hook - MSRP: $29.50, getBMWparts.com discoutned price: $25.81
Folding Table - MSRP: $106.06, getBMWparts.com discounted price: $88.83
Coat Hanger - MSRP: $85.00, getBMWparts.com discounted price: $71.19

I'm not sure what you mean by "it's been a lovely process".....the question was asked, we answered, it was asked again, we answered again. The next email had a screen shot of the shopping cart which showed exactly a coat hanger and universal hook, ...no base.....so we confirmed again that they needed added invidually and explained the pricing of each item.

If there's a better way to setup this special, we'll be happy to change or adjust it to avoid confusion - however there have been tons of orders since posting these and there has been very little confusion otherwise. If ever unsure, we are more than happy to assist - but we do ask that you respect our business and not deter customers from coming our way. Thanks for your consideration.

If people want to order anything from you guys, that's their choice. I'm just looking out for my fellow enthusiasts since 2 of us ran into the same confusion when trying to order the part. I don't believe I said anything derogative.

I'm not going to get into an internet argument. If anyone is curious about the pricing confusion, please PM me and I'll explain my thoughts.

I believe this issue would have been much easier to resolve over the phone.

In vdubturbo's defense I too tried to place an order for the accessories and ran into confusion.

When you first go to the BMW Travel & Comfort System it says "Your Price: $17.22" by default and in details for the coat hanger, for example, it says "Coat Hanger....[Add $53.97]" so when you add JUST the coat hanger the shopping cart says "Your Price $71.19" so how did we arrive at this figure? What is the $53.97 amount being added TO if not the $17.22 for the base? Would I still need to add the base separately and if yes, why is the $17.22 then being added by default? It still isn't clear enough.

I don't blame vdubturbo for his foresight in warning other members to be wary of how they place the order, in fact I appreciate the thought. He doesn't ask members to not shop at your website but to "hold off" until the issue is resolved.

The current setup is confusing, and counter intuitive. Adding the cost of the base to each item, even though the items don't actually include a base, is simply misleading. It also gives the appearance that the items cost less than they actually do, which creates the negative feelings you see expressed here.

The solution is to make the core price $0.00, and then have the correct price of the base and each option listed in the drop down menu.

Problem solved.

Very neat! So once again: once you add the coat hanger, do you add the base separately or not? What should the total amount be (base + hanger)?

Yes... add the base first to your cart. Then use the pulldown and add the hanger. It will say "add $53.xx", but it really adds $70.xx. Then the site will add another $7.99 for shipping and $4.99 for handling. The total price will be somewhere in the $100 range. Not a stellar deal since they say the MSRP of the kit is $106.

I still believe they're charging twice for the base, but I haven't won that argument with them...nor do I feel like arguing anymore. In the future I will consider other "discount" vendors.

Yup, you'll need to add the base and coat hanger to your cart individually.

BMW just raised MSRP on these items a bit with March's pricing update...

Base, MSRP: 29.50, online discounted price: 25.81
Coat hanger, MSRP: 85.00, online discounted price: 71.19 (which is why you see the price modifier of [Add $45.38] beside the coat hanger in the dropdown menu).

Total price of a Base + Coat hanger, MSRP 114.50, online discounted price: 97.00 + s&h.

We've done our best to discount these as much as possible given the limited mark-up on these items from BMW.

The hanger looks very functional.
I was wondering how difficult or easy it was to install and remove the base?

Super easy. This thing is way over-designed for what it is... Everything assembles/disassembles with snapping pieces with push-button releases. The base is spring loaded... so you squeeze it, place it in between the bars of the headrest, and then let it pop out to the correct size. Holds in place great.
