Ya, that's a pretty good deal.

I bought a used one for 100 bucks.

Its not a very popular mod so I found a guy who had been trying to sell his sprint booster for a few months. He just wanted to get rid of it.

Nice thing is that these are all the same for E90, E60, and F10.
They should all plug in.

Ugh I did not know that. I would of scanned the forums for a used one too. Either case I'm not ashamed of mine at all. I got the kick in the seat I was looking for, totally worth the cost. If tunes could address the throttle position like SB then no SB would not be worth the cost.

The only tune that addresses the throttle position like the sprint booster is the Cobb access port.
It felt just as sharp when I had that tune in my E60.
Too bad they don't have a tune for our F10 models.

First off no Highjack intended B dub! I wanted to add one thing and give my review if ok with you all. Couldn't have done this as easy without B dub's post.

Secondly, shame on BMW, frickin' car shoulda' come this way! What a difference! Comfort in green with Traction Control on is 50% sharper on take off, with all traction off 100% improved and very close to Sport in acceleration. With red button on both were even more improved and crisp with easy pressure on the accelerator and both were too close to Sport off the line.

I did not get a chance to try the Sprint Booster in Sport Setting.

I accidently found this tab that pops out on the back of the accelerator and once removed makes removing the plug- in much easier. Didn't think I would get it off
until I found it:

Like B dub, I loosened the spiked like screw here and easily ran the control wire to the front of the dash and fed the slack in the same space and used stick on, trimmed Velcro to mount the control to the dash.
I also took a flat screw driver and went under the black trim in the corner by prying it up gently.

To me the intall on the dash is clean and acceptable, not trashy.

@Noncom23 awesome review! I can t believe that bmw doesn't include this throttle behavior with the m sport package, and that JB4 doesn't do this. Not bashing BMS they are a solid company and have excellent products.

That damn clip was a great find. Can't believe I didn't catch that, but then again I did do the install in the dark waiting for my wife in a parking lot

Most of all, I can't believe all the other 5ers on this forum haven't been boasting this years ago!

I love driving my car, but I get excited when I don't have the fam in the car and get to go red mode around the city.

Quick update with mine so far my MPG has gone up from 17.5 to 19.5 in the city. That's not babying the pedal. If I babied it I'm sure I would be 20-21mpg city.

Thanks BD. I did the Sport Mode with Green today and be careful. The initial take off can be sharp and can hit another car easily if parking. That is all I have done is slow speed with Sport so far.

To Hasser: You won't be disappointed.

I had one on my old 545i and it made a big difference, I guess I will have to break down and get one for the 550i.

Have you had any long term reliability issues due to the sb? I've heard of folks having issues with the throttle sensors etc

Not a single problem, I couldn't imagine any car without it. Having throttle control over you air pedal is nice. There are other throttle controllers that have more finite control than SB though.

they have a new v3 out which i'm going to order, it has more 'adjustability' for a $30 difference i'd rather get the latest one.

Thanks for the response!

I was looking at the V3 as well but was kinda put off with the size of the display compared to the V2. I do like the Valet and Lock options though.

If i was going to install a JB4 would I even need this? Im assuming no since i would think the jb4 would be adjusting it.

I would think BMS would include a menu to adjust throttle input. I think by default they make the throttle more aggressive as part of the tune, but agin not sure about adjustability. Telling the ecu to open the butterfly full at only 1/4 throttle position is fun

Will still need it I had both as just JB4 didn't alter throttle.
