Just curios, what does this "coding" do?

Just a few.. Close side mirrors when press lock on key fob/ dvd in motion/ tire pressure on screen/ disable Auto Start Stop.

Unfortunately I cannot remotely code since I do not have the hardware to do so but if you go to Codemycar.com Okee can certainly help you out. Hope that helps.

Close mirrors + windows + sunroof through Comfort Access - closing works by holding finger on groves area on handle
Close/ open mirrors + windows + sunroof through Key Fob - hold down open or close key
Mirrors (un)fold automatically when (un)lock via FOB or comfort access + reduced folding delay to 0 second
Removed front windows roll-up interruption when door is opened
Removed legal disclaimers
Turned off headlights side amber LEDs
Tail lights on with DRL
Fog lights stay on with high beams
Tilt passenger further down when reverse gear is engaged (mirror selector must be in left position)
Close trunk from driver side button + FOB
DVD in motion
PSI/ Temp readings
Movie playback from USB port in armrest compartment, support for .avi, .mp4 + .ogg .vcd .xvid
Increased rain sensor sensitivity for Auto Wipers (all 3 positions)
Rear, top-view and side cams on while driving
Removed rear windows roll-up interruption

And, it can be done remotely.

I had my F10 coded and two of the mentioned options would not work on my car. I am wondering if that is common:

1. PSI readings would not show in I drive. After being coded, I only see 2 dashes where the PSI should be. (Yes my sensors are working) - I was told this is a common issue on some cars.

2. I was told remote trunk close does not work because I don't have the automatic trunk close feature. (In stock form, the trunk opening is powered)

My car is a 2011 550i Msport w/P1, P2, no comfort access, built December 2010

Sounds right. I had my F10 coded and had the PSI reading along with the temp. Then had the global update and I could not get it back.

There is a guy in Fontana that coded mine. He was very good and reasonable. You can find him by typing BMW coding on Craiglist in the Inland Empire.
