What happens if you beat on car before 1200 Miles

Long story short, '12 535XI MSport, like most here I could not wait to get me TopGuN on,“Need for Speed”....lol. I have now been driving in Sport+ and in Manual mode and revving well above 4500 RPM's and over 100 MPH....

My ? Is, in the long run, for those that have has there cars longer then me, I'm just shy of 2 months now, any noticeable problems with car such as finding your self in service a lot for minor issues due to engine, tranny wear?

Unless you are redlining the engine all the time, your engine and car will be just fine

Nothing will happen, car will be fine. I'd probably change the original factory oil early though.

Does the oil change thing apply if you are being quite reserved in the first 1200 miles? I will possibly change it in 3-4 years.

There is evidence that you might actually end up with a reliable car with good oil consumption characteristics.

Next, some of the advice to drive relatively slow with moderate RPMs is aimed at general safety. Most build related major malfunctions occur during the break-in (if at all).

So, by driving moderately you will preserve your life.

I drive all my cars like I stole it - from the get go - never had an issue - when I did an ED on an M3 years ago, I was told the break-in period is for the new owner to familiarize himself with the vehicle.
