leaving my f30 for a f10
Greetings Guys,
I'm having a baby in 2 weeks and I could use the space. Before I buy this car would like input from the forum members. The car I'm buying is a 2011 535 f10. Any issues that you guys know about this specific year and engine? What are the things I should look for before I purchase? And how much of a driving difference is going to change when I transition from my f30. Thanks in advance. Godspeed, Norm |

Make sure the car has all of the suspension packages (sport/dynamic handling package) or expect to be disappointed with the way it handles.

biggest thing you should know of is that the back seat of this car sucks relative to it's size. i'm 6'2 and my 2 yr old daughter is very uncomfortable sitting behind me. maybe its the comfort seats, but i was really disappointed in the rear legroom. forget about having a rear facing car seat behind you. this is only applicable if your over 6 foot tall; if your shorter you shouldnt have any issues

Sport Package is a must. I have a 2013 535i without it and am so disappointed in the car. In short, the car does not have any feeling without the sport package.

I've got a 535iX. Love it. I'm 5'10 so no issues with leg room for rear passengers. The car is a sheep in wolves' clothing though… the sport option makes a world of difference!! And definitely get the napa leather option if possible… You'll love it! Enjoy the car!! and congrats on the new born… your baby, not the bimmer

Dude, I just went to an event and drove a 428i m sport. I was not impressed with the sportiness and the precision of the car. Gone is the point and aim aspect of my old e 92 335i. Without sport package, I am even more adamant that the 5 series is really not worth looking at this time.

I have a 2011 535xi ... almost fully loaded. I never test drove any other variants of the 535 before I bought it ... I went straight for the M-Sport ($6500 option in 2011), as it came with Dynamic Handling, Adaptive Suspension & Active Roll Stabilization.
This car is great, handles like it's on rails, flat around corners at speeds of 65+ mph ... very fun to drive despite its size! |

I just say in a 2014 335i and it's not that much smaller than the 5 series's. For some reason I find the front more comfortable. It was a m sport

I AGREE 110% with Alan! I currently drive a 2012 550xi M Sport with NO DHP, it handles like a boat around corners. DHP is a MUST!

Well, I test drove one today. And you guys are 100% correct. Handles like a boat and the rear space I was looking for was only a slight difference in room. The space I was looking for was not there. I would have to get a 7 series to get the space. Thanks for all the input guys !

Hey Norm,
Did you drive the F10 with the sport package or the standard suspension? Which direction are you leaning towards now in terms of which car you now desire? |
