Called my salesguy to update him on the information just in case the service department has not told him anything yet.

Told him that the service advisor said it would take 2 weeks for the part to arrive but my salesguy said that he spoke to the service manager who said that the part would arrive this afternoon and car should be ready by tomorrow morning.

Had a "DME" ( Hell if I know what that is, THEY told me it was the computer brain of the car changed). Took 3 weeks total. It had to come from Germany. THEY don't overnight parts.

Hi guys,

Just an update, got my car back from BMW Singapore yesterday after they changed the part.

Pretty good turnaround time but confidence still shaken...lets hope this baby gives me a hassle free ride for a few years to come.

Bro u serious? USD 200k for a 523i? And i thought Malaysia's price is high but I only pay USD 140k for my 528i.

To be honest, the other day I was driving back from Johor to KL and half way drivetrain faulty. I have to drive 60km/h along the expressway for 3 hours. A journey usually only takes 1 and half hour to reach.

Back to KL, got a X1 loaner after a week of service. They cant sort out my prob so I wrote a letter to BMW Germany.

At the end of the day, problem solved. Phew...

Wow, back in 2013 when i had my 11' 535i, had a doctors appointment early in the morning, i go to unlock nothing happens i try to start and nothing happens... Got it towed and after weeks of constant arguments w the dealer, he sends a letter to BMW Dubai (yeah i live in Qatar, in the Middle East basically) BMW Dubai can't solve it, they send to BMW Germany and after a while of studying the issue they decide to change the whole brain of the car... And my 535 was the First worldwide to get this issue... After the 535 i owned a Mini Countryman and now i own a 640i GC and at the time, i only paid $63k for a well equipped 535i...
