Newb BMW owner first impressions

Wow what a car. But..

- ac fan button paint rubs off.
- Pulls to the right
- hesitates when crawling into acceleration from a stop
- Black chrome exhaust tips pitted.
- when destination reached navigation arrow in gage cluster stays locked to destination.

Looking forward to dealer or rummaging through these forums for other fixes for these.

Dirty.

hmmmm.... pulls to the right you may need an alignment, or check tire pressures. Hesitating when crawling.....yeah a handful of turbo BMWs do that, you may need a software update.....which may or may not fix the issue. Black Chrome tips......change them out, do you a search on here for good replacements (cyba). Navigation......I haven't figured it out how to make the arrow go off other than to manually go in and cancel directions.

335i or 535i? (I only ask because you're in the 5 series post)

As for buttons, it's decently common, and depending on your dealer they sometimes cover it since it's just a few bucks and installation.

The pulling is a known issue with the F10 535i's, not so sure with the 335i, a few fixes have been told, swapping tires, rotating strut, and reprogramming. Or something as simple as alignment/tire pressure check

Is your car still under warranty or is it CPO? They have to change the whole button cluster to fix the AC fan button, if its CPO, they probably will not replace it. Pulling to the right could be an alignment issue, if thats not it, then its probably the suspension. There is a TSB out for the F10 for accelaration lag, sometimes the reprogarmming helps, sometimes it doesnt. As far as the tail pipe, its probably consider wear and tear and not cover under warranty. The destination issue is a software bug, there is no fix for it.

I would try to get the button and the reprogramming fixed before your factory warranty run out. Dont let them put a sticker on top of the button and call it fix, I believe that is the first thing BMW will try to do if you did not complain. Good Luck.

After getting ac button fixed I will code for ac to be off on startup or put a clear sticker on it.

Thanks guys. Look forward to being a participant on the forums.

Maybe this warrants it's own thread. Are cyba's single exhaust tips too large for a 510i msport? I guess I'll look for pics. Looking to stay dual single tips in black chrome.

Does anybody k n ow the stock sizes.

I've programmed the 1-hotkey as Start/cancel guidance to fix this on my X3.

Does this require coding?

No - at any point when you're at a menu or doing something on the iDrive that you'd like to "store" - it can be a destination for Nav, a radio station, whatever function, you can press and hold one of your preset keys. It'll store that function. I store my home address under one of the keys - makes it easy when on a trip somewhere if I want to navigate home... just hit one button and I'm on my way.
