Full screen video from iPhone?
Does anyone with the BMW apps and media cradle get full screen video from their iPhone?
The video on mine is either in 4/3 or what looks like a small 16/9 window. When playing a DVD I get the option to zoom which makes the video play in full screen. |

You Swedes are still lucky. Your brothers west of the boarder (Norway) must pay 30-40% more! A 550 without options will set you back 210.000 USD incl. 130.000 in taxes!

I would say that every sane engineer think twice before putting crappy options to the market. This is clearly a case where the marketing people said go ahead...we will charge the customer a few extra bucks, what the heck if the option is practically useless or not...  |

This is so strange....
Sometimes it gives me full screen in 4:3 with black borders on the right and left. Sometimes the exact same material is in 16:9 in the middle of the screen with black borders all around. It's completely random. I'm not even sure how to reproduce this. It just happens. I wish this system was a little more consistent. |

Assuming you have an iPhone 4 or 4s this is the "media" snap in adapter that will give you charging and music functionality along with BMW apps and video out. keep in mind this also requires the 6A 6NR option on the vehicle if you want the BMW apps and the video playback. The phone functionality is always handled via Bluetooth so snap in adapters have no role in that aside from some added signal strength from using the car roof antenna when docked. |
