NBT Navigation Vs. Google

Good day all,

After taking a three year break from BMW (had a dreadful VW PAssat) I am now coming back to BMW.

In the old days I had really bad experience with BMW navigation on the E46 and E60 but it seems the newer NBT systems is pretty good with RTTI.

I have gotten used to Google Maps traffice info annd just wanted to ask you guys - is the BMW system as good as Google or not quiet. I am most interested in re-directing you when road conditions change.

Thank you

SB

No, nothing is as good as google maps. However, the good news is that Apple CarPlay is now available in these cars, which renders the BMW nav useless

Hi!

I can tell you from my own experience that the RTTI does it with justice!
At least in Germany.

Google is not bad either. But I think for the most recent actuality the RTTI is a bit better since it gains its traffic information from other BMW vehicles on the road equipped with the RTTI as well.
For sure the RTTI has the better information quality the more BMW vehicles with RTTI running in your surrounding or at the place you want to go to.

The only drawback is it is quite expensive if you pass your 3-year-time from purchasing new.
