I was able to get some type records, although they are very vague. Important thing is that the CCP was performed. Does anyone see anything concerning? Looks like cylinder 8 spark plug was replaced...

If everything goes well, I will be a 550i owner tomorrow...

Does the non M-sport rear bumper have a diffuser that comes off, or is the whole bumper made out of one piece?

From what I have read, it is 1pc, but someone sells a diffuser, so not sure how it attaches.
Looking into it now, car I am getting has standard rear but MSport front already, debating what to do..
Matt

Edit: Found this regarding a Hamann rear diffuser for Non M-Tech bumper
"For proper fitment this diffuser requires the removal of the rear bumper. Professional installation is highly recommended for this Hamann Style diffuser. Please Note: The current diffuser will need to be cut out and the new one drilled and screwed into place"

That is not true, unfortunately.

Some of the N63 issues were fixed or improved in the N63TU, and some not. For example, the N63TU still burns unacceptable amounts of oil. Mine burns a quart per 1K miles. This is a very common problem according to my service advisor and salesman (who recommends dumping this car, by the way...)

I hope the upcoming 4.0L V8TT from BMW is a better engine. I would definitely stay away from both the N63 and the N63TU. Maybe the N63TU2 in the new 750i is better, but probably not.

Well, it might not be perfect, but at least with the technical update, BMW took care of the main issues. It's still a monster TTV8, so some parts might break.

Mine had spark plugs replaced and injectors replaced. That solved my drivetrain malfunction and long cold crank as previously posted.

On my car:

23k miles - CCP
32k miles - cyl head cover gasket leak, end cover crank case leak
40k miles - bank 2 injectors repl, spark plug repl

Currently runs smooth and nice apart from my wheel vibration.

The 550 is a great vehicle. However, its performance is not significantly better than the 535.

I have owned both 550s and 535s. My next step will be the M5.

Sorry guys, haven't had much time to take pictures, but here are a few from the dealership. So far, very happy with the car. The only thing I do not understand is how such a well optioned car does not have bluetooth music streaming. I had this in my 2010 GTI! Can this be coded in?

First thing on my agenda will be to get the M Sport bumper and side skirts, then wheels.

Will an OEM M-Sport front bumper fit on a non-sport without modifications? Are the kidney grilles the same? What's a good place to order the lower mesh grille/fog lights? I believe those are different. About to purchase a used one, but it's missing a couple of things.

You'll also need the ducting behind the bumper cover...

For sure! I was originally looking at M-Sport cars only, but then I realized it's much easier to replace bumpers/sideskirts than add all these other options.

Really? I've said that about the E60 series, but the F10's are a world apart.

Having had both F10's I found the 535 to be "nice" and the 550 is a monster.

I'm 99.9% sure the kidney grills are the same. All M5 / 550 / 535 / 528 are interchangeable as far as I've seen.

Another little win for the 550...my juvenile tendencies seem to never go away

I had a friendly spirited "catch me" game with a 997 Turbo on a service road tonight...I was in the "prime" performance envelope if you catch my drift.

We got into traffic and he smiles and shouts over to me that he had no idea 5 series were that fast! He asks me what engine is in the car and I respond 2 more cylinders and 2 turbos!
