BMW F10 - FOCAL ES100K K2 Power Speaker
Hello Friends,
I was curious if any of you have installed the Focal ES100K K2 Power speakers in the F10. I know that Focal KRS and IFBMW-S were installed (I saw posts and videos), but from mounting point of view, the ES100K have 4 screw holes, while the other products have 3 (as the original BMW speakers). What is the audio quality difference between KRS - IFBMW_S-ES100K K2 Power if somebody knows? Thank you. |

OK, already found some adapters from 4 to 3.
Still curious about the comparison. Quote:

Ill chime in tho my K2's are in my Titan. More of a stage presence with the K2's when I demo'd them at the Audio Shop. I listened to the Access, PolyGlass, K2's and the Eutopias. The Eutopia's by far we're awesome but there was no way I could budget them. Never heard the IFBMW's but from research they're sort of comparable to the Access Series.

Thank you guys.
Already ordered the K2 Power and the adapters for the front doors. I still have to decide what I want to do with the rear ones and with the subs. Anxious to have them mounted |

I use K2 all around! All you need to do is cut one corner off & it will fit the center & rear! + you will a good amp to push it (75-100 watts will be perfect) I got 55 watts on it is, just OK!

msfive, if you say you installed K2 all around, where have you mounted the crossover for the rear (shelf) ones and for the dash speaker?

Kinda defeats the purpose than? Why get the K2's if you're not going to power them? That's like buying a Ferrari and putting a Honda Civic motor in it your best bet if you don't plan on amping them is stick with the Bav's

Yes, I bought smaller crossover for the center & rear (k2 165krc 2way spearker) they fit inside with speaker! Or for the rear you could flip down the seat & stick it outside the speaker box.

unfortunately I don't have the HK system, just the shi**y standard one. For the dashboard speaker, if I don't have the factory speakers installed, is the wire there, or I should make it myself? The K2 speakers and the adapaters arrived, now I just have to make some time to install them. |

I'm also interested in speaker upgrade. I've got HK system and was debating between the K2s and BAVs. I'm not interested in upgrading the amp. I'm satisfied with the base. Just want crisper highs. I'm a treble nerd.

Project DONE!
It took me ~4 hrs. The preparation took more than the work itself. Sound is much better, but more noticeable at higher volume. All in all, pleased with the purchase and with the results. Next, I'm planning to install the dashboard speaker, but I still didn't find out yet if it's pre wired or not. After that, I'll look for the subs. Still have to decide if to go with FOCAL or SWS Earthquake. |

If you have the base stereo then there is no pre wiring for the centre speaker.
You need to run one to your amp and you will need to purchase a new centre dash speaker cover as the base cover is solid not perforated. Running the wire is easy on a right hand drive car, open glove box and remove plastic cover at the top of the glove box then also remove interior panel that would allow you access to the micro filter housing. Youd be able to easily run your wire to the dash and then down the side of the car to the boot(trunk). |

I saw the cover is not perforated. I suppose it should be just a plug-in, in the amp for the center speaker wire? |
