No issues if removed before service!

I know a lot of X5 35d guys are using it and its great for them based on all the reviews.

I've had mine (race chip) installed for about 2 years with no issues and love it! Never took it off when taking to the dealer and they haven't mentioned anything (knock on wood). I believe my 535d is a better overall car with the race chip. My experience with chips / tunes is that unless you have a catastrophic failure, the dealer (most of them) really don't mind. However, it really depends on the dealer.

No. I have the base module. I didn't adjust it from the way it came.

Ultimate is good since it has the faster processor and nice weatherproof box
Its also upgradable from what I was reading and they have a bluetooth option that lets you adjust settings from your phone

BMW dealers will KNOW if you chipped your car, they can see when it was last edited.
They can deny warranty on that. All depends on your dealer and your relationship wit ha service rep.

Oh yours is a diesel, sorry no idea then friend.
If your car is under warranty for a while, i don't recommend tunes that void warranty. Eg. my car just went in for 40K mile service and they replaced the rear bushings and some other items all free of charge. They had to remove the whole exhaust system and check things, would have been costly if my warranty was voided.

You'll be fine, some people are just more paranoid than others.
The dealer cannot see you're using a piggyback or that you have used one. They don't have this type of viewing power and only reason they would plug your car into the BMWNA system is if you have any big problem they can't detect themselves. I've had + others cars tuned with Racechip for years a bunch of X5 35d guys as well with 0 issues. Dinan sells their product based on fear and that their warranty will cover you, yes if your car is brand new and you get a discount dinan might be worth it since it matches factory warranty. But if you have a car with 2yrs or less with warranty dinan not worth it. Their increase in power is only worth it on Stage3 but even so, you can get a real ECU Flash (invisible to dealer) for less and get better power delivery and consistent. I have reviews of my RaceChip on stock setting vs Dinan Stage1 on friends car in the 1/4 mile run on drag strip. RaceChip is smoother and comes out winning by a lot even in stock setting. Racechip is very popular for the Diesel and way better than on Petrol. Don't hesitate unless you have a Tuner near you who is good.
