Comfort vs Sport seats
Hi All
I am looking to change my car in a few months and have started playing with the BMW car builder, I have got most of the options I want but the one that I am struggling with is the comfort seats. Both my previous F11 have both had the part electric sports seats which I find fine but I am contemplating the comfort seats as you appear to get more seat settings. So just wonder if anyone out there has gone from sport seats to comfort seats and what do you think of them. |

I have an X5 with Sport Seats and a 550 with Comfort and highly recommend the Comfort seats, especially when doing long drives. Add the active (massage) options and they are amazing. The upper back support us what makes all the difference.

Thanks for the replies Guys, do you have the Nappa leather and if so how do you fined it holding up is it wrinkled or any dye transfer. I only ask as I in tend to keep the car for a good while 7 years +.
I currently have the Dakota leather and find it very durable. |

Just remember that there's no sport seats in the US, they only get standard and comfort seats.

I've got the comfort seats in Mocha Nappa in my new one and I would highly recommend both. I had the standard seats in one of my F30 and sports in the other but I would chose the comfort any day. There is no wrinkling or dye transfer (they are dark brown though) |

I have Oyster perforated nappa leather. There is dye transfer from my jeans but I wear raw demin and they bleed over everything. It cleans up easily with leather cleaner, about once a month. There is one slight wrinkle in the leather but not enough to worry about. If you done have ventilated seats, I think the leather would hold up better but I dont regret it, especially on hot humid summer days!

For Oyster Nappa, it will get dingy quickly especially with dye transfer. If you're a DIY cleaner or have a good valet, steam cleaning with a clean white cotton towel is the best way to keep it looking new. The perforated areas are still Dakota leather just FYI. |

The sport seats I'm talking about looks like this on the LCI. And like this on the pre-LCI.

+1 for Comfort Seat option - this was a must-have when I was in the market. The most comfortable seats I've sat in, even more so than those in my W211 E55, which at the time were great in their own right. The standard seats in my parent's '13 X5 are flat with weak bolsters and hard as stone. They're essentially the same standard versions you'd find in the 5er.

To mimic what others have said, the multi-contour comfort seats are awesome. They are almost infinitely adjustable including the side bolsters on the back. My car also has the massage function which is nice for longer drives. Compared to sport seats in my last 3er, these ones are way better.
This new 5 is also my first experience with Nappa leather that I am really enjoying, granted my interior is black so it shouldn't be much different in regards to wear. |

On my previous E60 550 I had the multicontour comfort seats with adaptive side bolsters (which were standard on the M5, but an option on the 550). I loved those seats, but on my F10 it came with the standard seats, but included so many other options I was okay with it. If you find one with all the options you want and multicontour - get that car.

When I ordered my 13 LCi I went for sport seats due to the standard ones in the Demo car allowed me to "Role" about . The Sport seats have always felt a little hard in the seams on long drives.( 100kmiles in 2 years so I be gone fo the Comfort seats in my new 16 I've just ordered. Wen for Nappa too they felt awesome........I also went for Coral......and now wondering how I will keep clean .......!
But yes... Go for the Comfort Seats. |

I agree that the F10 Comfort seats are practically in a class of their own. The interior of the F10 all around is the biggest selling point of the series and the seats are spot on in almost every way.
HOWEVER, the seat ventilation is totally inadequate to the point of shameful. Talk about drop the ball... Seat cooling in a car of this class should be several orders of magnitude better in a top of the line luxury seat offering. Mega fail.
