2014 BMW 550xi 0-60 (Stock)
2014 M sport ALL STOCK.
The launch was very conservative because the car only has 150 miles on it. what you guys think? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NcI6SQKBQ2Y |

I saw nothing conservative about this video.
Looks mighty fast. Low ~4 sec 0-60mph? Can't wait to try it out in my 550i when I do ED first week of April. |

Lol, believe it or not this thing has a LC feature that I did not use. I just did slight break torque and off to the races.
I will attempt LC when the car has some more miles on her. |

Waiting until 1200 miles before I use the launch control. From what I hear all you need to do is place the car in Sport +, slide it into manual, brake and gas at the same time and then bang.

For the OP - so much for the break-in period? I have about 300 miles on mine now, and I'm not pushing it past about 3k - 4k RPM... certainly no 0 - 60 tests at this point.

BMW states 0-60 in 4.3. Manufacture claims are always conservative. This is a 4 second car. Finally, I came from a B8-S4. Again a car that is well known to be underestimated by Audi. Time and time again it hit 0-60 in 4.5 and the quarter sub 13.0 in multiple road tests. I flogged the hell out of my old Audi and the 550 is significantly faster.

Inflated 0-60 numbers to sell the car.... the test cars are not your every day car... they are tested on perfect track, perfect conditions, perfect tires, tuned for more power. kkthx

I agree BMW always under-rates power. This was the fact with the 335 as well... 300hp, my left foot! :-). Either way, the 550 is a fast car... I can easily believe BMW's 4.3s claim.

We can't use Badblack's car for any kind of basis for comparing anything because you are running god knows what settings with your tune with race gas lol. Typical people wouldn't crank up the boost to 4+psi over stock.
Doubt any pre lci or lci will be able to touch your quarter mile times. Alan

When I have about 1k-1200 miles on her I will be doing a full on 0-150MPh run on a closed track. A.K.A . Empty Highway In Mexico.
I want to compare and contrast the 2014 bone stock vs the 2014 Stage 1 BMS. Hopefully in the next few weeks. I will dissect it frame by frame. |

Can do: N63: Stock, S1 Pump setting, S1 Race, and then S2 if its out1 N63TU: Stock, S1 Pump, S1 Race (as soon as Terry has the updated S1's completed). That way we can set this to rest :-) PS - ARadoncic550, where in NY are you? If local, we can/should all meet up. |
