New JB4 Firmware - Who updated so far??

Terry posted up a new firmware for the F30/10 a month or two ago and I am curious to know who's updated and if they noticed any changes to the way the car behaves.

I am still on the original F10 firmware and it has been CEL free so far so I am skeptical of changing what already works good enough on my car. Terry won't disclose what he changed which is frustrating to say the least. The N55 F10 is like the bastard child in the tuning community.

One thing he supposidly fixed was the battery error showing up if you don't drive the car for a few consecutive days.

omg, the way Terry communicates is horrible. I can't get any detailed info from him. It's always a one-liner. I just wish there are other tuners out there fighting for our money.

Been running it and was testing it for him. He made some unspecified changes but he said it did what he wanted it to do. Working great for me

I bought my JB4S2 with the new firmware last month and the only thing I can says is that I'm not experiencing the boost oscillation that you referred too on a previous post.

Hope this helps.

I think the F10 N63 is the stronger candidate for the "bastard child" crown. I am seriously thinking that a change of car is imminent if no serious mods start to pile up.

Yes with Terry I barely get full sentences. The F10 folks gets scraps that works for the F30 guys but don't expect anything more.

I don't want to switch the firmware and end up liking the old one more. I heard he wouldn't send the old one back if you wanted it.

That is good to know.

I've had the tune for about 4K miles now and its been trouble free without any check engine lights.

the only strange things i've noticed is:

Before the car is warmed up and you give it more than 50% throttle you will feel the car stutter right around 4500rpm. I normally don't drive it aggressive before the temp is in the middle anyway so not a big deal for me.

Boost occilations during light load highway cruising. Under light load you can somewhat feel the power go up and down slightly but it is very faint. Once i give it more throttle the car just pulls and it is fine. This is minor but just something i know isn't there when it was stock.

Battery drain warning every other day. I had this come up once before my JB4 was installed so not sure if it has anything to do with it. Another member said he had the same issue and once he took the JB out he never got the warning again. Terry specifies that this was one of the tweaks he made to the latest firmware.

Congrats Mr G! Thanks for the feedback.

Have you ever experienced the battery issue with the JB4s2?

I have the new firmware and I have had the battery issue. I don't have the battery issue if I keep the car locked (suggested by Terry).

Am I happy with the tune? Sure it works. My machine is not a speed demon but it does make a significant difference on the "get up and go"

Anyone else running the flex fuel cables with e85? I'm actually really happy with the power increase. Haven't dyno'd it yet but it's definitely noticeable.

Hi BigDeep1,

I do have the battery depleting issue but with the help of Alan I found that the E-brake is the culprit. Every time I use my E- brake I get the message the following day and if I park the car without it for the weekend (2 days w/o use) the car seems to be fine on Mondays.

Just updated my original firmware to the latest one. Seems alittle more refined and smoother. No issues so far .

what firm are you talking about? Terry email me the firm back in Feb 15 2013 it's labeled N55_S2_F30_INT.hex
I have a 6MT he sent this to me after someone found out how to wire the CANBUS I am getting the battery depleting every morning. I turn my car off and wait a few seconds and turn it back on and it's gone. When i took the tune off to have my car serviced i never got the battery depleting issue.

It didn't specify so my guess is that it should work on both auto and manual F10's. Mine is auto.

i just wrote Terry and sent him the firmware I'm running. I also looked on the N54tech site and saw that it's a different hex file labeled N55_S2_F30_INT_7.hex
I'm running this N55_S2_F30_INT.hex

I loaded N55_S2_F10_F30_7.hex last Friday and have had no problems. Interestingly I don't have the battery drain issue so far.
