I don't think you can disable this.

Why would you want to disable??? Everyone in the front buckles up in my car. no exceptions. Actually I don't remember the last time someone who rode with me did not want to wear their seatbelt. College maybe, but that was a while ago LOL.

I've religiously worn my seatbelt since they day I got my license. But I'll break the trend for pulling out of my garage PS: I didn't find out how... I just found out it's a PITA to do it. |

Weird, in my car (6 weeks old), you can't engage gear unless you have the seat belt on! Warnings on screen etc.
So even if I disabled chime, I wouldn't be able to move.... The guy dropping it off out the back of his truck noticed and commented that it was the first he had seen (and delivers many BMW's each week). YMMV

That is weird, my car F11 520d M Sport with 8 Speed Auto/paddles so very similar to yours and its only 4 weeks old - built week 4 2012 lets me drive away without putting the seat belt on. I can drive a good 100 yds and the warning doesn't even go off.

3 ways to disable seatbelt warning
I often keep my briefcase on the passenger seat of my cars and it drives me crazy when BMW passenger seat decides my bag is too heavy or shifts just right to set off the beeps...
ONLY READ FURTHER IF YOU PROMISE TO WEAR YOUR SEATBELT WHEN DRIVING 1) works on many bmws but not all: if you get one of those cell phone to your dash magnets that they sell in many car washes..the ones that are around 1 1/2" in diameter that you are supposed to mount to your dash and then amount the little piece of metal to the back of your phone... Take the magnet and attach it to the underside of the belt receiver..(not the push button to release side...play with it first before attaching the adhesive and find the right spot... the magnet draws the two metal tabs inside together and closes them completing the circuit no more beeping.... 2) ask your parts department for an extra seatbelt buckle only...some parts departments will get it for you $25 sometimes free...others will charge you for the entire seatbelt harness..too expensive if they do... pop it into the seatbelt when you feel the need.....this is what i originally did then one day i decided to get the magnet when i saw it at a carwash thinking it would be a great way to store the extra buckle when not in use...and i accidentally discovered option one!!!!! 3) for the cheapos out there... take a piece of hard 1/5 plastic..they sell at most hobby shops..cut it into the same shape as for seat belt buckle..(good scissors and please be careful) spray adhesive all over the plastic and wrap neatly and well with tin foil pop it in and the seat belt thinks its buckled!!! |
