I did. Ran it hard, loved it, and never threw a code.

Around how many miles? I did today and the fans sound like they're trying to cool hell down.

I did about 5K hard, mostly city miles.

If it's hot outside and you run it hard then shut it down, the fans will blow strong for a bit. It concerned me at first too. Run it a little easy before parking it to give it a chance to cool. Otherwise, if it isn't killing the battery I wouldn't worry about it.

Pulls like hell though, right? Very addicting!

What boost fail safe are you running? 2.5 or 3.0 daily?

I've gone into limp mode twice in probably 500 miles. Both times the car was not in sport mode. Also I get abnormal cooling codes once in awhile too. Oh yeah and rear o2 efficiency codes

Have you noticed a HUGE difference in fuel consumption? I understand that there would be more but it seems I'm burning more fuel than my E60 M5 with the V10 S85.

Well I was burning thru gas cause I found when BMW changed my injectors they didn't tighten the fuel pump and I was making it to about 120 miles a tank that's how bad the leak was fixed everything now and I get about 220 miles a tank in city driving but highway I still get 300 miles plus on tank but if I drive the car aggresive which is often lol I get shitty mpg

if the photo attachment makes any sense and in fact running 10PSI boost (never know what Terry has hidden or what top boost really is) the car is running like a dream. The secret; Pure 100 octane 10 gallons fuel in tank with 64oz TORCO (according to TORCO equates to 114 octane). OEM M5 Downpipes and OEM M5 exhaust. I had one and only one hick up accelerating through 140MPH with a gentle pull. No codes found
Whatever its worth.

I personally wouldn't feel comfortable daily driving with that map. I also live in CA where the highest octane sold at the pump is 91.

I'm sure it's been asked but, how much rear wheel horsepower can one expect on a 2011 550i with only charcoal filters removed and straight thru design mufflers (Megan racing) with the bms stage 2 on pump gas 91 octane on a street setting?

Depending on what dyno you use and considering you might lose HP/TQ with the exhaust setup.

I'd say 460whp

BSF: 3.0
WGP: 1

little OT question here but any CA owners had to deal with any emissions issues. Burger has a whole page dedicated to how "out of luck" CA owners are that are trying to avoid emissions problems

Why would his exhaust lose power?

Depends on what time of year you run it and what octane, most of the east coast guys are running at sea level in wonderful air with 93 so thats a HUGE advantage over us southwest (and nevada) guys who have to breathe in dirt and only get 91 octane while most dyno rooms exceed 100 degrees at all times. 20-25 hp less than them is about right for the timing limitations you will have here with 91 octane so figure 430-435 on a stage II (maybe 440 if your car is cold and its cooler out) since they pull timing and add boost. My car started to detonate at just over 420 on stock timing with just under 3 lbs of boost added (E-tronic tuner, BMS stage 1 and other devices that dont touch timing), I havent tried it on the dyno yet with the 30% E85 im currently running, but its just so hot out id probably be disappointed anyway. If its pinging on the dyno with dynojet load, it will be significantly worse on a 4th gear pull on the street or with people in the car. Ive turned mine down to about 2 lbs of boost increase through the summer months to keep it safe with other people in the car, and run it at about 3.5 lbs when I have E85 mixed in.

There's a lot of science in R&D an exhaust to a specific engine. Throwing universal mufflers on may be benefitial, be completely useless, or decrease performance. Which is why I said he 'might' lose performance. If that's the case everyone could fabricate exhausts and sell them.

While that may be true about R&D, keep in mind more often than not the "R&D" isnt targeting performance, it is typically chasing emissions reduction and sound reduction with no resonance and lastly thinking about how much power it might make. There are ZERO scientific articles leading to more flow on a turbo vehicle making less power. There is a point at which gains are negligible, however you wont ever lose power by increasing flow... As far as everyone fabricating exhausts, ive been building them for over 10 years now and can tell you ive never "lost" power by opening a system up with quality components and quite often seeing significant gains over the "engineered" systems using simple things like Magnaflow mufflers. Much of the "Engineering" for aftermarket systems comes from researching low resonance systems in our specific vehicles and/or ways to offer a dual mode that actually works.

I only put on the different mufflers to get a better sound and to replaced the tips and the small weight reduction, I can say I didn't feel any increase in performance after the install.

I only mentioned the mufflers in my previous question so that everyone knew what I was working with.

The Megan stuff is fine... typically most mufflers these days are straight through and a wash when comparing "what makes more" because dyno variance will typically be more than the difference between the systems. That being said, chambered mufflers such as Flowmaster and similar can rob power because of the muffler design and creating more backpressure, but I dont see many flowmasters on BMWs thankfully
